First off- the monroe struts - I know they suck guys. We all know they suck. They are bouncy bouncy and soft. BUT I am also getting a brand new set for free under warranty.

They were purchased a long time ago because they were a budget shock, so i do not expect high performance out of them.

My question is, WHY does everyone say that these are bad to lower on? Do they blow up/out? Do they not allow sport springs to seat well? what is the reason everyone says they suck for lowering? OR If its a matter of preference cause "they suck" please let me know.

And instead of making a new thread, im looking for a very conservative drop if i decide to do this. So any opinions about some comfy 2" and less drops are welcome. Just tryna get rid of some of the unsightly wheel gap, not going for lowest 6gc.

lol, i know i know. if it sucks that much i wont even bother to drop. Im ok with stock ride height if lowering on these puts me at risk of having a shock blowout on the highway or something crazy like that.

im on tein monroe drop. it isnt bad.

The cheapo monroe's are not even close to oem quality I believe. So if you lowered them, your ride would be soft and not stiff like it was intended to be. I've had some very nasty experience from autozone struts. I think putting them on didn't make much of a difference in fact I think my old ones that were almost broken in half was a lot better just that these new ones were still in one solid piece.

the shocks he's getting are free like he says. so why not. i got mines at a discount, cuz of course im going onto full coils anyways. its a personal choice i guess....................

Any complaints 808? Are the teins comfy?

the dampening and rebound rates are not anywhere near the range needed to provide the correct ride standard.

Also the amount of travel is probably not going to be enough, this can lead to bottoming out and suspension damage (in worst case scenario)

ew, i don't want bottoming out or suspension damage, that would stink.

no complaints for the price i got them for. these are just temporary teins with gts rims are alright, with 18's and 35 series............welll

i really dont know what's a comfy ride because your talking to a guy that used a 77 celica as a daily for about 8 months

na i might get k-sport coils cuz i got hook ups there. it depends what brand comes to my face first.
