I'm serously thinking about going for this - anyone else already have a supercharger setup and want to share their installation experiences? Also, I've been told that I should first upgrade from my stock injectors, fuel pump, clutch and pressure plate before installing the supercharger


Will this fit on a 3sfe aswell? I need as many answers as I can get on this topic please.

fitment on a 3sfe should be no problem,stock injectors, fuel pump, clutch and pressure plate should be install at the same time as the supercharger. especially the injectors and fuel pump. you will need a fpr ( manual will do ), and a piggy back to control injectors and ignition / timing so you can get the best out of your set-up.

2. no one makes an sc kit for the celica.

hes talking about getting the ripps one in the fs section...
since noone has really done this and you dont even have the correct engine (yes i know its similar) you could (will) run into alot of issues and not have to many ppl to turn to
be warned
that being said if i had the money i would totally be doing this, actually i would buy a obd1 st and do 4agze but thats just me
or this and then get a bigger better car with TT (370z cough)

Actually there are sc kits for celica but rare. Joe search through the buying selling section, there was a guy ages back selling a whole sc kit for a 5sfe. No-one bought it and there wasnt much interest for it. But yeh its going to pricey i rekon. Good luck on your hunt man.

Hey man, ill give you a call later on today about the SC....i guess you have your mind set on getting it huh, lol....well anywho, the sooner you get it the better....gives us more time to get to work putting everything together..oh and after taking a look at it, dont see why it wouldnt work on yoru engine....ehh, if we have any problems, im sure we can figure it out....lol, another supercharged 3sfe...how insane

Why don't you go turbo instead? A supercharger is very expensive and the output isn't as desriable as a turbo in the long run.

I have been thinking about doing the same thing for a few months now.

Like the idea of "constant" boost and no surge of power that a turbo would provide.

Going to do some more research on it very soon; keep me updated Lil-Joe101 if you find any good info.

TRD Supercharger! Its a straight bolt on kit for your car. It would be around 7-12psi and would be more then enough power for your corolla to have fun in. The kit cost around $5000(Estimate, may be cheaper).

Not a lot of turbo's will spool up that quick lol but something like my turbo (TD04H or something like that lol) witch spools at about 2,500rpm is a good small turbo to try. If your after instant response then get the Supercharger. Its a lot less hassle and it will give you boost as soon as you put the foot down.





A potential solution would be for Toyota to use the 2AZ-FE motor, and combine it with a TRD supercharger kit, available as an aftermarket package for the US market Scion tC. In the US, this kit takes the 2AZ-FE from 160hp (119kW) to 200hp (149kW), with a 13% gain in torque to roughly 246Nm. With 149kW and a kerb weight of 1,360kg, a supercharged 2.4L Corolla Sportivo would have a power-to-weight ratio of 113kW/tonne. Whilst this figure would provide quite rapid performance and compare favourably with other current models in the
Toyota range, the TRD issue arises. TRD’s marketing campaign revolves around the concept that TRD vehicles are “Toyota Supercharged”. Therefore the use of a supercharger on a non-TRD model would seem counter productive.

no, it wont.

and doing a swap to the TC motor, only to put on a TRD supercharger that only makes 200hp (thats not WHEEL HP..its more like 160whp) would make NO sense to me, when a 3sgte swap is routine in a 6th gen, could be done cheaper, and stock makes more hp.

the only place that ever made a SC kit for the 5s was rippmods back in the day. they made a few kits for the camry guys.
the kit didnt sell cause it was VERY expensive.

did it and will it work? yes.

is it WORTH it? no, not really.

still it would be nice to see a 5s (or 3s) guy do it just cuz it is so unique, if you want some more power but not insane amounts it is cool. just the uniqueness factor makes it cool

add injectors, fuel pump and some custom brackets and piping maybe -not sure, hav'nt heard of anyone modifying it to fit in a celica. The other thing is the ECU. Been thinking about the ECU that Ripp Mods was offering with their kit. I wonder if they made the piggy back ECU in house or some other supplier made it for them. With so many 5S-FEs out there its kind of surprising no one has shoe-horned this blower in a celica or camry/solara.

rippmods gave you a SAFC back in the day.

its not worth the effort VS cost VS performance.

how about a cobalt SS swap??? lol the instant power/torque (my bros dyno'd 267 whp)and gearing would be great for our lighter celicas

For the TC charger it looks like the alternator would have to be relocated... definitely some custom brackets....

The 5s, IMO isn't strong enough to bolt on a supercharger... the power gains aren't gonna be worth it at all.

For all the effort, a v6 swap would be superior in every category - maybe even cost.

I'm sure both would fit with enough shoehorning.. the 4g63 would require a hell of alot of work - but thats one hell of a capable motor

I don't know if any members remember me but I did buy that expensive supercharger from ripp modds and am FINALLY finally trying to finish it up after two years. Its rough the cars computer hates the supercharger thats for sure and the safc II that ripp modds gave me doesn't compensate for the cars poor poor idle. I even took it too big shops to help like AMS and Sound Performance in the burbs of chicago and even they had little advice to give that wouldn't include spending a bazillion dollars. Good luck.
