Hi,
When my engine is idling, its close to a thousand rpm n if the ac is on, its close to 1500 rpm....is that normal.. >rolleyes.gif>

Thanks,
Preetham.
nope, 700-800 is normal.

it seems to vary if the ac is switched on/off.......atleast by 500rpm....
could it cause any harm...
just when cold or even when engine is under normal operating temps??
when the engine is cold it's perfectly normal! the ECU for the 1st 90 seconds keep the engine rpms at about 1500, then, when engine is warm gradually go around 700800 RPMs >wink.gif>
I always wondered that. It used to scare me when i got in my car in the morning and it revved itself up. GOOD TO KNOW!
