Hey guys i wanna turbo my car.. but really dont want to gover over 220 hp at the moment.. by I do want to drive faster than I currenty am! I was just wondering.. bc I know once u hit like the 250 plus area the GT tranny probably wont be able to hold the power.. So basically im just wondering how much HP can the GT tranny hold.. is 200 max? bc even though im getting a stage 2 clutch.. i just want to make sure i dont blow my transmission.

The GT tranny can hold at least 300hp.

its not hp you have to worry about, its TQ and traction that will kill the s54.

shannons is holding 300ftlbs right now.
mine has been holding 275ftlbs for 3 years.
dont worry about the tranny, it'll be fine.

It'll hold. Its the axles you have to worry about. I just laid it down one day and had amazing traction for some odd reason, and the driver side cv shaft just snapped on me.

ahh I see.. I think ill do some research though b4 I start this project.. and plus the weather really isnt exactly good to do this kind of job at the moment we got even more snow today.. but well see though.. its either turbo project in spring.. or swap in summer..

5sfte is pretty cool - a nonturbo motor holding up well. Amazing!

Patience is a virtue Mike... you told me you were going to do the swap in summer last time we talked.. what has changed that makes you want to turbo? time apart from me must be skewing your judgement hehe jus kidding.. but good luck with the turbo.. im sure Justin n Ced will be able to help you out.. wish I could be there to see

caron has a turbo kit 4 sale that is a total steal.. I have the cash to buy it.. I mean waiting for the swap would probably be better.. but a COMPLETE turbo kit doesnt come around every day. right now im planning a way to meet up.. sorry V lol

how long was your car turboed for jeff?
i wouldnt really call that a fair example.

if you could get an auto tranny to last more than a year or so, i would be suprized.

Well good luck.. I should be coming to the states this summer, I want to visit Washington DC and maybe you.. although you upset me alot just be sure your car is turbocharged when I see it.
