just an update
so my engine unfortunately is a 7a-fe
good news is the axle works great
noise is gone from that side
handles perfectly
but bad news is this:
because of my lucc, another completely unrelated problem has arose
i need a new brake master cylinder
alas, i thought my car would be ready tonight
after three weeks of different stuff going wrong
one more has come up
haha, im in a good mood tonight tho
so i suppose i will just order a new master cylinder tomorrow morning

and to answer the question about making an axle
i didnt exactly MAKE one
my old one was the perfect length, so i measure it
and cut out a precise lenght from the shaft
then i put it into the middle of the new axle i had bought ( which before i worked on it was significantly shorter)
at my shop we have machinery and tools that helped me to make sure the shaft was kept perfectly straight
and i welded it myself, so im sure it will hold

its not exactly the smartest idea but i really had no other option
im still unaware of what tranny is in my car
so i couldnt find the right one
and my method was really a last resort

you have an auto or manual?

Says "manual" on his profile....fyi
grasby you seem a little confused... and it seems like the "k" key is stuck on your computer.

A few things to clear up for you. The GT engine (5SFE) and the ST engine (7AFE) do not have interchangeable transmissions or engines. It would be a lot of work to take a GT engine and put it into an ST. It's almost the equivalent of doing a 3SGTE swap b/c the transmissions are different, the wiring is different and things are not going to just bolt back together without modification.

My car, for example, was auto... a few years ago it was swapped to manual. My transmission came out of a Carolla.
(1993–1997 Toyota Carolla has a 7afe engine)

I hope that clears things up a little for you.

Buy my Celica $2,500 -http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=76562&st=0
no dude, sorry but it doesnt
i know they have different trannys
i just dont know what tranny i have either,
the tranny in my car has been replaced at one point, by what tranny, i dont know

i know for a fact that my car was rebuilt (says it on the title)
not just like, modded, or suped up
but like they took two car halves, and put them together
well thats explaining it simply
dont worry, i know its not as simeple as putting two halves together

anyway, what im saying is this
this car was wrecked, severely, and they put it bacc together.... from other cars,
so.... is possible they used a gt tranny, and engine
which, they didnt, but its possible lol

and no, the "k" isnt stucc on my keyboard
i just refuse to use the letters "c" and "k" in that order
lol, yea its ridiculous, but i have my reasons
a few of you may know why
i use double c's instead of ck
and every chance i get
i use BK
haha, if you dont get it, dont worry about it

Happened to come across this page when i was bored so i decided to paint a picture lol

the underlined letters is the series of the engine and most parts aren't interchangeable
