Topic #66210 35 posts Started by captainpyro1
for all the people who own the less ballzy st version of the celica, i would like to point out its overwhelming reliability. today at 5 in the morning i arrived back at my house in nh after a straight 15 hour drive 935 miles, which i had just accomplished on the trip down there only a week ago... my car now has 190,000 miles and still burn almost no oil. i used 28 gallons of gas of 85 oct. thats about 33.3 mpg. only mod is a accord cai. as my friend put it "reliably of a honda, style of a lexus" i love my little car.
2700 miles < 7 days
was my most abuse and she did well

6th gens are very reliable when cared for!

Ok, so I dont have an ST, but the most I put on her in one trip is about 1200, 2 days. Plus Ive been told the celi is a border hopper, take that Cananda! tongue.gif
My 6hr drive from fort worth to my grandmas house south of San Angelo to a town called Ozona, made the trip 6 times there and back so 30 hrs of driving if u add it up
Halifax to Quebec City 1250miles / 2000kms round trip with the wife and kids (they were much smaller at the time) in summer '05. put another 300miles / 500kms sightseeing. no issues except for leaving the lights on at Les Galeries de la Capitale. some nice 'citoyen' gave me a boost. he said he saw the car from the road and wanted to check it out. by the time he reached us i had the hood open and a puzzled look on my face.
Columbus to Fort Bragg to Orlando to Cincinnati with over 195k and original Toyota t-belt in less than a week.

Boston, MA --> Washington DC --> St Louis, MO --> Austin, TX --> Phoenix, AZ --> Los Angeles, CA

3404.6 miles, 8 days, and amazingly only 7 gas tanks!

Longest one ive taken was from Windsor to Toronto (400ish km),then from Toronto to DWG (like 11 hours of driving in total..donno how far distance was), but it was a good haul though. Only downside was gettin stuck in a traffic jam just inside PA on the interstate for like 3 hours in 35 degree weather cuz a flatbed losts its load going around a corner, and having to do the trip sittin in my sparcos.
haven't really went too far in the ST205 other than bringing the car back from England to Ireland. The Carlos Sainz went to WRC Germany and the Nurburgring from Ireland in 2007.
646.8 miles from Ohio to New York when I bought my car from Toyotacrazy. Strait shot only stopped for gas, I know it's not an st but, it was a great road test of the car. Made it without a single issue, big ups to Toyotacrazy.

I may have the win here smile.gif Drove from vermont to daytona beach twice which is 1300+ miles one way (over 2800 miles round trip with site seeing) then one trip from vermont to miami beach which was over 1600 miles one way plus daily cruising and site seeing... 180K + and shes still kicking! btw on my trip back from miami i filled the tank and drove her non stop till the gas light came on and i hit 500 miles to the tank.... proof is below smile.gif I averaged 39.4 mpg... it was awesome and I ran at 75mph until the last mile when i took the photo bc i wanted to make the gas station at the next exit.

Corryton, TN to Key West, FL

1049 miles ~20 hours STRAIGHT only stopping for gas and food!!

I'm 6'5" ~300lbs good lord was I glad to get out of that car, the only thing happier than I was may have been the Celica!! laugh.gif

It was a long trip with a 90mph in a 45mph ticket near Tallahassee (real long story there got off with a 50mph in a 45mph zone instead)
Done a couple of long ones. NJ to Savannah to see you know who, then back a few months later. Last long haul in the car was NJ to St. Louis when we moved. That was a 893 mile one shot trip that took about 15 hours because there were two cars moving.
about 30min.

My 1st Celi ('89): about 3500+ miles from Brooklyn, NY to Portland, OR, including site-seeing and a wild hair pit-stop in Minneapolis because I could.

Curent Celi: Portland–Vegas, 1166 miles according to the GPS in my phone; Vegas–Portland via Newport Beach, CA and up 101, about 1300 miles (although I think it's more because I went up 101 and not I-5) Total: 2466 plus I went to work that morning that I got home so 2490 tongue.gif
just got done with a round trip of about 1700 miles from missouri to panama city florida..

car sure did take a beating. some of the roads are horrible down south!!
gah...i wish i had cruise control
I drove the Yelli Celi from Seattle, WA to Big Springs, CA one hot summer day. 8 1/2 hours, 530 miles. Not too bad, but due to no A/C, P/S, CC, stiff suspension, a steering wheel that fell off, and a loud exhaust system I was exhausted when it was all over with.

Then the same on the drive back.... minus the whole steering wheel falling off...

total on the clock is somewhere around 300k miles

but the longest trip for mine (which was done 3 times - and prolly will never do again) was from pa to ca and back within the same week (2700 miles one way) so about 5400 miles in one week lol

no cruise control, lowered, on 18's - however, besides the extreme boredom was a pretty neat thing to do biggrin.gif
