hey guys i really would like to go but to be honest with you guys idk how long it will be and well also through where we would meet the thing is that im from the rio grande valley those of you that dont know its right close to South Padre Island ya know *****spring break ***but yeah if i can meet up with anyone out there and well go from there it would be cool so yeah guys enlighten me with some ideas here.

After email-ing with Mixmaster we are close to finalizing a route - needs a few more tweaks but it is coming together nicely.

Also, Mixmaster let me know this same weekend is the Big ROT harley rally in Austin, Robbie Knievel is jumping 12 trucks Friday night, the city is going to be packed and driving roads full of motorcycles.

SO .... do ya'll want to try to push the date back 1 more weekend are you all ok w/going down there & dealing with bikes.
I have a feeling majority will be Harleys in which case they prolly wouldn't be on any twisty roads that we would be driving on.
If anything there might be sport bikes, but they are ok by me b/c they are way faster than any of us lol

Personally, it doesn't bother me, but I wanted to let everyone know now so if we need to change the date everyone can get their time off from work switched.

I already asked for the 13th off and I don't really want to ask for another weekend off. I don't want to give the new employer any ideas that I don't want to work weekends (which I don't).

The Bikers are 99.9% all harleys. They'll be cruising 290 East, I-35 and the other major routes. They stay mostly around central Austin because the events are out East and Downtown. We may see them out on 620 because the of the Lake and all the restaurants out there. I think we'll be fine- just wanted everyone to know that Hotels and such may be hard to come by. If any of you guys are staying late on Saturday, there are a couple of meets that go on with a good segregated crowd of punks and decent people.

Is it still that meet at the intersection of two freeways in like a hardware store parking lot or something like that? If so we crashed it back at the first Tx meet - I'd be down to do it again

We have to hit 2222, Lime Creek and I'd like to see Old Spicewood Springs and 620 make it but it just depends.

620 out by the lake has some great views but there are some lights and some traffic.

Couple of Questions:
Where is everyone staying in town or coming from? That might make it easier to pick a starting and ending location.
How long does everyone have (miles and time)?

Darth is trying to finish up the route and plans. I'm trying to help her with the route but I don't want to make it too long or have a starting point that is too far out of the way for everyone. Is anyone else from Austin going from this site?

We're coming from all over [see the rollcall]. I'd say we should meet at the easiest place to find that is closest to the start of the route. But IDK where anything is in Austin - that's why we need your help

It's in the title of the thread and updated on the first page - first post.
Hope you can make it.

For any of you who have never been it is simply the most awesome driving experience you will ever encounter in Texas and for those of you who drive Celicas - this is what your car was specifically designed for [tho it would have been nice had we ALL gotten the AWD Celicas whether they be oldskool RWD, AWD or FWD were made for cruises like this one].
That being said, know the limitations of your car, maintenance and your own driving skill. There will be those of us who hit the turns very agressively but we are also the ones who will slow down later to let the slower cars catch up. Noone will get left behind so be safe and be respectful of other's cars.

Houston and surrounding area members if you feel like caravaning you may feel free to meet up and roll out from my garage [Like last time]. I now also have another appt much farther out on 290 so it may be better to start out there rather than my place on Hollister/290. Both locations are filled with Celica parts and mods for sale too BTW [end shameless plug]
