sway bar links - 6G Celicas Forums

ok, after trying to take off my rear strut assembly, i striped the allen bolt, and its half way unscrewed. I was thinking of just cuting them off and replaceing them; but i dont wanna spend 100-150 bucks..... has any one tried making them, or how much was it to replace. Thanks for any input.
cut em off replace em, I think people have made their own but realisticly you are not going to save much money when you account for the time to make a set, also if you are sure to grease the new ones good when you install em you wont have problems with em.
I'm not too sure about this and nobody has confirmed this for me either. Don't change your links, just get a set of ST sway bars. I believe the sway bar links will be replaced
Use a dremel or air grinder with a cut-off wheel to remove the old one.

My 97 Toyota shop manual doesn't show any differences between GT and ST,,,they both have the links, See the post on here about prototype sway bar links, The GT sway bar may be heavier/stiffer than the ST, havent compared them.

i have an st hatch and yes they do some with them. i had this problem when trying to put my coilovers on. i ended up just doing it with the strut still on the car. i intend to replace these sometime though. right now they are just loose and rattle.

you don't need to cut go to sears and get the stripped bolt remover it works great... and it's only 20 bucks....
just when you get the bolt of go and get and new one....

is this what may be causing the suspension to rattle slightly in my car, it sounds like the strut just moves a little bit when you hit a big bump.
any input is apreciated
if you undid those upper strut mounting bolts, make sure to tighten them when the car is back on the ground.
i had a similar rattle i was told it was the upper strut mount bushing.
LOL, alright i just cut them off an f..ked up my links, ho well, the rattleing just pissed me off, i just went to the home depot and made them for like 5 bucks....... they work, but i doubt not as well as the stock ones..... but the same idea
