ok, well i just got back from sacramento raceway. i had a good time and all, but i was really disapointed with the times i got. the last time i went there my best time was 17.58, that was with my shortram intake. now i have a cold air intake, and after a few runs my best time came out to be 17.62. can somebody help me? can it be the diameter of my intake? i am running 3" diameter on the intake pipes. if so i think im just goin to go and make one with a 2.5" diameter. what do you guys suggest?

how long ago were you at the track the first time?
Well considering the gains of a cia on a n/a engine I wouldn't even bother installing one. Besides a "cool" noise your not going to get much out of one. Get a turbo or build up your engine if you want it fast. >

Yeah well, it all depends on when you went to the track like 5sfeturbo said. It also coulda been driver dependent, because gains of a CAI are so miniscule...that you could have just been having not a good of day with your shifting or whatnot.

exactly. besides, the main advantage of a cai is it doesn't get heat soaked as quick. if your short ram was nice and cool on your 17.58 run it could very well have run as good or better than a cai setup.

If you wanna get better times, put your 14's back on ... when you race that is... it may not look as nice, but you'll definitely have better times on your runs...
