new front bumper questions - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #67604 7 posts Started by ksporry
having read the sticky, I was wondering if some people have ever installed a "raptor" body kit or front bumper (e.g. this one)

There is a company here in the UK who claims they have someone working for them who worked for Veilside (not sure its this company, don't think so)
If someone has, could you please tell me what the quality of the kit was like, and how the fit was?

Also, I am considering spray painting and fitting the unit myself (I may get a quote as there is a dent in my celica ever since I bought it and I like to get it fixed, so will be quoting for that one anyway), but I wonder about what paint to use for spray painting these bumpers myself.
Some say that using canned spray paint isn't very durable, but if there are particular brands that will outlast the car, I'd like to know which ones. Also if there are other paint types that I can use (with proper spray paint equipment), I would like to have some recommendations...
Commonly known as the Invader kit originally produced my Veilside.
Painting it with spray paint won't look very good at all and won't match the car. I recommend something comparable to "Maaco" if you have it. For inexpensive and decent paint.

The bumper does require some trimming on the inside edges to get proper fitment, but nothing a dremel/patience/time can't fix!
I saw someone with a similar bumper on this forum. Is it true I need to screw it to the original bumper or is it an actual 1 on 1 replacement?
its a full replacement
