Honestly - I think 2 submissions is too much. Pick ONE photo you want to submit. There are two polls with 54 pictures total. I see people submitted 2, 3 or even 4 photos that are almost identical, which is a waste.

If anything can come out of this poll its eliminating the obvious ones that won't make it to calendar. Say anything with less than 5 votes gets the axe.

And if someone has more than one entry that has votes, the ONE with more votes gets a pass. No point in having multiple photos in of the same car, they aren't going to get in twice.

But if someone is complaining two days after deadline like "I have send pics and they are not in poll" there is NO reason for canceling results. Or I'm just the one with this opinion? No Malpaso, we're talking about people who sent in pictures on time that are not being included in the poll and multiple submissions of the same vehicles.

Alright - so I haven't checked PMs yet but here's where I'm at.

Existing polls will come down. New polls will be posted - likely by the end of the day today. This will depend somewhat on when I get photos from people who had already submitted them, but for whatever reason I didn't get their email. Not sure what happened with this, but I will check the spam filter. Last year this wasn't an issue, so I don't have any understanding as to why it's an issue this year. Whatever it is, we'll resolve it.

As I stated in the polls I posted on Friday, because of the lower turnout of submissions this year compared to last year, I opted to include the multiple submissions. If the overwhelming majority objects to this, then truthfully, I have no problem with that and I will reduce the multiple submissions to TWO per person. Last year we had more than 1, and I don't think that this year it needs to be reduced to just 1. I stated in the original post that (IIRC it was two, but possible 3, I'd have to go back and look) would be accepted per person. So I will stick to that.

Anyone reading this who sent in more than 2 submissions, you must PM or email me today and tell me which ones you want to be in the poll if you have a preference. Otherwise, I will choose based on professional judgment.

Here's where I dropped the ball: I have gone back through my emails and found photos from the following people that I missed in the poll. First off, I COMPLETELY take accountability for this! I wanted to get the poll out on Friday, and unfortunately I was in a hurry when I did it, and rather than push it back until today I rushed through it. Obviously I should've just pushed it back. So to those of you that got shafted, I sincerely apologize.

Here's my decision on this:
Regarding you submitting a photo, Brent, I'm gonna have to say no on that. One reason being that I let everyone know months ago that it was time to send in submissions. I think I gave ample time to everyone to get their photos done and in. Truth is that if I start making an exception for you, there's plenty of other people who *might* want an exception too, then this entire process gets pushed back even further while I wait around for pictures that may or may not come. I can't tell you how many posts I've seen about "oh I'm definitely gonna submit a pic this year" and I got nothing from the OP. Not a big deal, I'm just saying that I don't want to drag this out and wind up delaying production. Lastly, your car is very distinct, and it was in the 2009 calendar. I'd like to see other people get an opportunity. So far as I know off the top of my head, only ONE person from the 2009 calendar submitted for the 2010 calendar, but with a completely different Celica all together, so I think it's fair and I'm cool with that.

That being said, I'm allowing people who have some decisions to make about their multiple entries to get back to me by the end of the week. Everyone's been contacted. If I don't hear back, I'll decide myself which photos will stay.

The polls will be reposted on MONDAY and will stay open until FRIDAY. Since images are being eliminated from the polls, and several are being added because I sucked last week, the poll results as they stood on Monday are void. Everyone gets a fair shot, period.

On a lighter note, the layout and design for the calendar is completely finished! I've got quote requests in to printers, and expect to go to press the week of the 19th. Once the images and stats are dropped in, of course I'll post up a sample spread so you all can see what it'll look like. I'm very happy with it - I've taken people's suggestions and used them where I could, as well as added a bit more detail to the calendar pages themselves, including month-at-a-glance grids and quarter, new and full moon phases

Actually I was thinking I'd just have a photo of myself on the cover. Like how Oprah is on the cover of every issue of her own magazine

I have some ideas I'm playing with, but nothing concrete yet. Let's see how the poll goes next week.
