profile access problem - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #6772 27 posts Started by ghostdog
when I click on a profile link, for example

it attempts to load

or miscellaneous other cookie code on the end of the url

it keeps doing this until the connection times out

hasn't happened to me before today

currently running Mac OSX 10.2.8 and the browser is Internet Explorer 5.2

thought you'd like to know about it Coomer

New Toyota project coming soon...
all the other pages load up fast cause i have DSl but tahn when i try to look at peoples profile to look at their car it says " page cannot be displayed" >mad.gif>
doing it again. can't even access main page ??
Ya all other pages work fine, and any other forum I go to the profiles work, just not the 6gc.net ones. Kinda wierd, i cant even think of what the problem might be, maybe a security access issue? But I really dont know.
To those of you who are having problems viewing member profiles, are you able to view part detail pages from the parts database, and how-to articles from the how-to articles section?

Im at skool, so its no big deal that i cant see the profiles. But I can see EVERYTHING but the Profiles. How-to's..parts guides, its all there and loads quickly. Plus were running off a t3 here are skool, and it still wont load.
Hmm...this is very, very weird. There's almost no fundamental backend differences between the part detail pages and the member profiles.

blkGT, did you view part detail pages and how-to articles that had photos? Also, if you view a couple member profile pages that don't have photos, do those load?

im not at skool anymore so i cant experiment for ya, but EVERY page i clicked on worked fine... with the exception of any member page, no matter what they didnt load. they just sat forever and then went to an error page.
i have cable and internet explorer 5.50 and windows me

and it works for me just fine..all site features and all that junk work too
I just had a new idea a few minutes ago. Next time anyone's having trouble with accessing the profiles, try remembering the user ID, which is one to four digits and is what directly follows the /members/ part of the url. For example, in the url http://www.6gc.net/members/7/s/24a84oiasi234880s3d8dfds, the user ID is 7.

Now, logout of your account, and once you're logged out, go to http://www.6gc.net/members/X in your browser, replacing X with the user ID. If this works or doesn't work, please let me know, so I can get this figured out. >smile.gif>
