The Yelli Celi - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #68292 16 posts Started by 95CelicaST
So I've been looking to get back into a Celica - specifically the Yelli Celi (again). It's been all over Craigslist in the Seattle and Portland area, but recently it has disappeared. Anyone have any idea where it is at these days/ who owns it?

Sigh.... I miss that car.... frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif frown.gif

you know..I didn't even notice it hasn't been posted up for a while. Maybe someone decided to keep it, hopefully it's in good hands.

Well I hope I can find whomever it is and talk them into selling (extreme wishful thinking)

I found an awesome cheap silver 94 ST hatchback nearby with a spoilerless/wiperless hatch. Super clean, but automatic. Auto=boo!

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
No 3S. If I can't find the Yelli Celi I will be getting a ST to do a 20V/6sp swap. Not looking for a fast Celica (that's what the WRX is for).

Yea I've been looking around for that celi too. Was thinking about gettin it but ended up doin my swap instead.
I'm not a fan of coupes, but the bay on that Celica is hands-down one of the best I've seen.

I have been keeping an eye out around here but I haven't seen it for a long time.
She will find her way home someday. If it comes up for sale again I might
just buy it.

JDM guy made me do it.
If I recall the yelli celi saw its demise... two years ago? Maybe a year? If I remember some young punk bought it and promptly ran it into a tree.

I remember reading a thread on that way long ago. I just spent a few minutes searching for it, but I can't seem to find it. Pretty sure its toast though.

You are probably recalling the post I had made where the punk kid I sold it to called me (2-3 weeks after I sold it to him) at 5:00 AM and wanted me to drive up to North Bend (where he lives) and help him pull the car out of a snow bank. I declined. A few hours later he called me and said he got it towed out, but now it wouldn't start.

It was alive and active on craigslist un until May of this year. Looked like the only changes were that it was repainted (same john deere yellow), had different wheels on it, and had an in dash DVD player.

So what if it's automatic? I had a choice between a red 5spd celica st and a silver auto gt and took the auto... and besides if the silver celica is so cheap you can just swap the driver train...no?
Didn't want to do the auto to manual swap.

Either way, I went and looked at the Silver one and it had damage on every body panel. Stuff you couldn't see in the pictures. The clearcoat was peeling off of the hatch, and all four headlights were damaged in one way or another.

Instead I picked up a 96 ST anniversary edition that was 5sp and the motor will be tossed in favor of a Blacktop 20V.

The yeliceil didnt get any new paint. I tryed to trade the guy that was selling it a honda but he wanted me to put money on top. Wish I did now but it will pop up for sale again sooner or later.

Hey 95CelicaST congrads on the celi so are you coming to toyota fest this year?
Won't be coming to Toyotafest, as it falls on my girlfriend's 21st birthday, so I'll be doing my civic duty and taking her bar hopping instead. Wish I could go though - I'd like to get my name in on the raffle.

Ya i saw it driving up i205(vancouver) heading north last night around 10ish

it still looked like it was in good shape, and ya i am sure it was it. The Hiro spoiler on a bright yellow coupe with side skirts is pretty unique, not to mention all the work under the hood;) lol
