Climate control wiring - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #68342 56 posts Started by Cavegod
Hi all i am curently installing cauto climate control in to a non climate control car so thats climate control out of a 1994 jdm Gen6 Celica st202 and installing it into a 1997 uk Gen6 gt st202.

does anybody know where to get a wiring diagram for the auto climate control system as i can only find one for a Gen5 st182 celica.

heres hoping

Pete
Has nobody got a wiring diagram??
check the wiki in the celica club uk, i think there is a how to

Learned a lot in 10 years...I hardly log in anymore, last loginToday Sept 6 2019, and I was forced just to clarify a post. LOLIf you PM me and I dont respond, dont fret or cry. Im alive, better post your questions in the thread below, maybe I log back in2grfe Swapped...Why I chose the 2GR, before you ask read here...A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.@llamaraxing in Instagram is the best way to find me. nope the wiki is no good i am fitting auto climate control not the normal aircon.
as the guy on said in your thread on celica club uk, your properly the first, so umm good luck smile.gif

sorted it just need to figure out one wire but the system works without it,

its a green/red wire and i seem to remeber it going to the cor and according to the wiring for my celica it then goes to the diagnostic port so maybe the a/c has fault codes?
yeah I remember reading something about the climate control has its own OBD, so it flashes lights if something's wrong

I can post up the 95 and 97 USDM versions if you want...there might be some differences with the UK version though.

ok the climate control is fitted and i have just 1 wire to connect, green/red wire no idea what its for and i have no diagrams to help me out either. i can't believe there is no info on the auto system, i have got a diagram for the Gen5 auto systems but nothing for the Gen6 system any help with this one wire will be greatly recieved.
if anybody has there car in bits can you check 2 wires for me?

i need to know for sure that the orange wire (bottom left) from the left plug of three (black) on the heater box goes to the blue plug on the right above the centre vents, should hopefully go into a blue connector block with 3 oramge and a few brown wires.

also i need to know where the green/red wire (next to a grey wire) from the bottom row on the centre white plug goes to.
You complete this successfully, you got yourself a certified sticky if you provide the info.

i can't believe that a wiring diagram for climate control don't exist!!

just one wire to connect and know way to find out what it does without another climate control car to look at.
cave - what is working so far on the CC what is functional and what is that 1 wire do? or what is not working

everything works but the wire must do something otherwise it wouldn't have it, i was looking at the wiring for the gen5 climate control and that has a battery wire to the A/C auto amp, also checking the gen6 diagrams on celicatech all the green/red wires are battery lives. i have not connected a battery live to the system but maybe this wire is for battery? only way to find out is if somebody with auto climate checks that the wire has 12v constant with ignition off, but getting somebody to remove a bit of dash trim to do it aint easy.

would you mind posting how you got it to work ?

most of us the in US don't have the parts needed for a modification like this, but it'd be good to hanve for those few who do have the parts/

yep parts required if you don't have A/C at all like i didn't

1.A/c compressor & drive belt + pulley if different
2.A/c radiator
3.A/c fan
4.3 relays out of the relay box next to Alternator
5.A/c pipes from engine bay
6.Climate control control box
7.A/c box (behind glovebox)
8.Heater box behind dashboard in the centre
9.all wiring from the control box to the blower relay
10.thermistors A/c rad, Dashboard below steering wheel next to left knee uk and right knee usa
11.Solar senor top of dash

think thats all of it for the most part the wiring should already be in the car for normal A/C check for 2 plugs in passenger footwell 1 behind carpet and 1 above the blower ducting, in the engine bay there should be an unused plug near the ignitor with a blanking plug pushed into it, and 1 near where the compressor goes and 1 next to the top of the radiator near the relay box.

hope this helps.

and can I just say climate control is cool

just set it to the temperature you want and it will keep adjusting itself to keep that temperature.

I dont know why not many people have done this?? (well about from a little work wink.gif )

thats a lot of work but Im sure itll pay off once it is working right

yep just wish somebody with Climate control would check 2 wires for me frown.gif
ok i'll try but I aint taking all my dash apart, what wires and where?

Cheers Rusty, you will need to remove the trim around gearstick (just unclips at the back then the front, the trim around heater and stereo 2 screws at the bottom then just pull from bottom, remove the heater controls 2 screws and unclip the plugs at the back.

the wires i need to know about are as follows.

behind the heater control and lower down are three multiplugs attached to the heater box from left to right they are Black, white, grey. may be opposite if left hand drive.

on the black plug on the bottom row there is an orange wire i need to make sure this has continuity to the orange wires on the blue plug above and to the right(RHD) of the centre vents.

on the middle white plug i need to know if the green/red wire bottom row next to a grey wire has 12v with ignition off and also the grey wire next to it has 12v with ignition on and 0v with ignition off.

many thanks if you do this for me.
right all done and wired in just need to refill the gas and voila ice cold air for our tropical uk climate!!

Nice, now can you tell us a quick run down on this ?

what were those to wires ? where do they go ? so we can have this documented and make it easier for those who may try it later.
once you plug all the sensors and wiring plugs in you are left with a few wires

white/black x 2 these are earthsanywhere on the car body work

grey ignition live

yellow/red pressure sensor connect to the cars wire for the snesor.

orange- speed sensor, block connector in middle of dash behind and above the central vent, its a blue block connector on the right

green/red- battery live

blue/yellow relay earth for the fans/compressor just unclip both the cars and the CC wires discard the cc wire and push the cars wire into the block connector

blue/white heater relay same here just use the cars wire and swap it for the cc wire

thats it the rest of the wires x6 go to the thermistors

then just plug every thing else in.

hope this helps!
Congrats on getting it all working. I started an ac to climate conversion on mine some time ago and have everything working except the actual aircon now. Must revisit it at some point and figure out the last step.

right first off sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I had a look around, I tryed to followed the wires (which go up in one lot) and I cant see where they go
got a couple of pictures dont think they'll help you though, but from the looks of your previous post you might already have it.

(sorry the loose wires, USB wire & that funny looking black right angle thing are a plug and play for my headunit)

just wondering did you have to wire those up or are they not part of it?

I also found the bulb I need to replace for the fan speed (lower left bulb) I went on toyodiy 84999-10530 that seem right to you guys?

Yes I was under that impression also. Please let me know if you need any further diagnositcs or wires tracing. I have the centre console and glove box removed at the moment so would be very easy for me to do.
