If I buy a clip what else do I need? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #68423 4 posts Started by Promasta
First off I have read the stickies.

I got 5k right now I could probably blow and will be getting another 4k by the end of the summer.

I can get a st205 clip (just everything in the bay, no hood/bumpers/lights) for 3k shipped.

Now I think I need some other stuff including:
1. fuel pump
2. clutch for the s54?
3. wiring (do I get Tweak to do this?)
4. 3" custom exhaust
5. gauges to monitor boost

What else would I have to get?

Also does the TMIC fit under the stock hood or do I have to get a FMIC?

And lastly... a friend of a friend works at toyota and has done some turbo/sc setups in his spare time. What do you think is a fair amount to give this guy to basically do the swap for me?
If you have to ask, you havent done your research yet....

1. fuel pump- either use a walbro, supra tt, or a stock st205 gt4 pump.
2. s54 trans uses a 5sfe clutch, 5sfe throwout bearing, 3sgte pressure plate, and 3sgte flywheel (just resurface). You can go with ACT, Spec, Exedy..etc
3. wiring is very simple and thanks to Dustin i had no problem doing it. when the time comes, i'd be more then willing to help.
4. yes
5. everyone uses varied set ups with mixed reviews throughout various forums. prosport, autometer, greddy, aem..etc. just make sure that one of your gauges is a wideband, i bought the uego.

with a full clip you're pretty much getting everything you need in one shot. just replace worn out hoses, fluids and regular maintenance stuff while the engine is out of the car.

TMIC does fit under the stock hood. Corey (Silver94CelicaOwner) currently has this setup. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=55058&hl=

goodluck!

TMIC does fit under the stock bonnet but, you will have lots of heatsoak while idling or slow driving. The ST205 hood had the openings in the hood so heat can get out (lots of heat will be generated by the turbocharger/downpipe). With the stock hood, all of that heat will seriously cause the intercooler to get too hot
