HKS TURBO TIMER.... - 6G Celicas Forums
having a harness helps and im sure the directions can be found on their website
What if there is no harness or it doesn't fit for my car? Does anyone know how to install it without one?
i remember using the "HKS Turbo Timer Harness TT-1 for 88-89 Toyota Celica All Trac Turbo" harness and just tapping the ground and power wire
It's possible, you have to pull out your ignition wires and unplug the harness connector for the ignition, then trace out the wires. With the connector unplugged, get some wire similar to the gauge used on the ignition and make some little jumpers (u-shaped wires to connect two pins on the connector). First find which wire is always hot from the battery using a voltmeter or test light. Then use the jumper to connect the hot wire to each of the pins on the plug, you'll see the radio come on, then the lights on your instrument panel(this one turns on the ECU), and one might trigger your starter. Make notes of which wires do what and wire the one that turns on the ECU in to the wire that says "IGN" on your turbo timer. You don't have to wire in the e-brake wire if your turbo timer has that, it's only for safety, I always ignored it on my cars. Msg me if you get stuck, I can walk you through it. You will need a test light or voltmeter though. It's pretty simple once you do it.
edit: oh, you have a 95 celica..me too..i'll look at the wire diagrams and tell you what you need to do. I'll probably do that tonight.
