I am officially a daddy. My wife called me at work yesterday (Friday) at about 12:30 and says "I don't think you're going to be working on the car this weekend." She started having contractions yesterday morning at about 4 AM but didn't tell me before I went to work. So at 1 PM she's 10 minutes apart, and I go rushing home. We ended up staying the evening in as she stayed at about 7 minutes apart. We were laying in bed last last night and I was trying so hard to hold on and time her contractions and ended up falling asleep. She wanted me to rest up so she let me, but at 4:30 she woke me up and said "It's time to go."
Off we go. Without getting into too many details, my wife was an absolute champ. This is our first child and she did it WITHOUT drugs, though she did ask for an epidural after her water naturally broke at 8cm and her contractions got MUCH worse. But she decided against it at the last second as she wasn't able to sit up and hold still. Suddenly she says "My body says I need to push!" Doc comes in, goes "Wow, go ahead and push." Four pushes later our baby boy came into the world. Doc looks at me and says "That NEVER happens like that for a first time mom. That's awesome."

This has been the most amazing day and a half of my life. I've experienced about every emotion possible, been complimented by my wife for the job I did, got to support an absolutely amazing woman in one of the most difficult things a human can go through, and now have a son of my own. This is just awesome. We're both beat as there's been very little sleep and a ton of emotional and physical stress, but it's being overshadowed by a very euphoric feeling at the same time.
We're hoping to go home tomorrow. Mom and baby are doing outstanding.
