Erik D's Progress Thread - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #68695 12 posts Started by Ruroniarc
Hey guys. I've had my Celica for about a year now. I joined this site not too long after I got it. I've finally settled on a look for my car, and now I'm working on getting there. I wanna thank everyone on these forums for helping me, you guys have really changed how my car is gonna look. So, here it is... right now I'm in stage one : Goodie Gathering.

Ordered about 200 dollars worth of misc stuff lately. Here are a few of the things I got. More things are on their way.

First: 7'th Gen Short Shifter

96+ Stock Fog Lights

Sound To Light LED Modulator -- I'll explain later wink.gif

Things that are on their way...
LEDs for my gauge panel
Clock filters
10k HIDs

Things that I've already done...
Changed my climate control blue
Swapped out radio deck with a Sony Explode deck
Halfway shaved my antenna (tape over the hole until I get the rest of my body work done.)

Things that I still need to do...
Get TRD splitters (front and rear)
Get 404 Sides
Polish and paint my stock 15s, and get tires for them (Or get Enkei 5 Spoke rims)
Swap out drum brakes to rotors, and get all new rotors and pads.
Get my body work done, and get it painted (Color semi-decided -- Stock Toyota Super White)

My other project...
I don't like coupes because they don't flow as nicely as hatches, but this is what I got, and I don't have the money or time to get a hatch. So I have to live with what I got. So I'm going to modify my spoiler.

The plans - I'm going to remove the center post, and create custom riser blocks on the sides. I'm going to engineering school in about a month, so I should be able to fab something up on the 3D Printer or the CNC Machine.

So this is where I am now. This weekend I'm going to be installing the fogs and the short shifter. Wish me luck! I'll update this thread as I complete things.

Update: I got my 6GC.net stickers from Lew, and I cleaned my engine bay (a little)

Here is the engine bay before and after. Neither shot is very good, and I didn't get as good of a clean as I would have liked..

After:

I'm also in the process of polishing my exhaust header heat shield.

And here is the new 6GC.net sticker.
Is your car an ST because the engine bay looks a little different from mine?

Nevermind, I see it says ST> LOL Sorry. I am drinking right now.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep it looking fairly stock at first glance. I'm still waiting on funds to put TRD splitters, TOMs lip, and 404 skirts.
Just a little update, I did a few more things to my car. I'll post pictures when I get a chance. I also took it on a trip to North Carolina. 1,868 miles round trip. I only filled up like 4 or so times. It was a good drive, but very tiring. My car did amazing though. Under half temp the entire time, even in outdoor-100 degree weather with the AC basting. That car is amazing.
