We have a Fosgate 45.2 Punch laying around from my dads old saab and i was just wondering if i could put this in without replacing the speakers? I'm using an Alpine 9805 for the head unit right now...
Thanks,
Amory
Yup. You gotta disconnect the speaker power lines (2 per speaker) and run them back to the amp. Pretty easy. We have 2 plugs, a big and a small The small is completely the power to the speakers and then theres another 4 on the big plug. To find those just find the 4 with 2 different colors. They will be together. I dont kno the colors off hand.
And if u dont kno how to connect the amp: ground the amp, run a remote from the power on switch of the deck (usually red) and then run a line from ur battery usually 12g with a fuse.

You misunderstood my question:
Can i put in a Fosgate 45.2 Punch amp WITHOUT HAVING TO PUT NEW SPEAKERS IN.
I.E. ---> would it be too much for them
I know you would have to hook the speakers up to the amp...
My stock speakers blew from a cheap Sony head unit(CDX-C480 40Wx4). A 45.2 would kill them.
You should be able to pick up a decent set of Kicker, JBL, Polk... 2 ways for less than $150(I found Kicker RS6c components for 160, so I know 2 ways can be had for less).
my bad, sorry.
I have a 350 goin to my stocks and theyre ok, of course i have it filtered so that only my highs go thru them but theyre not bad.
