19's too big??? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #68725 14 posts Started by Smiley
Hey guys im looking at putting some 19's on my gt4 just wondering if there enough clerence and what not too allow for it
it'll fit, it all depends on the offset if it is too close to suspension. Keep in mind the drop height affects both.

i got some 19's on mine and sits real well...
actually thinking on lowering it about an inch.
yeah it will fit if you have rubberband tires. I hope you have very smooth roads out there unless you listen to your music through an IPod and use nothing that reads any type of disc. Because ouch....

the ride is actually smoother than i thought....i always try my best to avoid those horrible streets!
My wife put 18s on her car from the 15s she once had. Using stock suspen. I feel every damn crack in the road. Also wheel noise is up by 15dB. Its worth it though cause man her celica look sweet!

19's are run on RWD all the time, your roads have to be tolerable at least.

To me 19's are perfect and you really don't need real small tires on it. You will even have to drop it about an inch still. Go 19's if you can. I was semi disappointed with my 18s. Even after I dropped it an 1.5". I should have dropped it 2.5". So if with 18s I have to drop it 2.5" 19s will fit just right...after you drop it an inch or so... biggrin.gif

Id never go bigger than 17s. It ruins the feel of the handling completely.
17 look real good,

18 are pushing it,

and 19's are just ridiculous

I've seen 19" wheels on a 6G and it looked good, a slight drop and correct tire sizing and wheel offset/sizing and it'll look ok. I personally think 19's look huge on a 6G.

Your car, your look though. Do some research on rim sizing and fitment and pictures of what 19's look like on the car before you go out and buy them though. Don't want to spend money on something that might not fit right or will look funny.

Good luck.
here's one of our own with 19's and it looks great. Fredric

After I looked at your ride the only thing I'm worried about is the permanent cheese on your face!!! Go with it dude, you'll love it. At least 18s!!!

Yeah but you live in Long Island. It's hard not to feel every crack even with Mickey Thompson's!!! I miss NYC though I don't think I can own a car there!

Also if you go above 17" your odometer reading will go out the bigger you get as the wheel revolutions get bigger always worth considering especially if the cops are hot on speeding biggrin.gif
