So as some of you guys know I removed my turbo for smog and practicality reasons a while ago. Now I am getting bored with the car again so I put back in my custom made K&N cold air intake and it was running and feeling great... until yesterday. I got a check engine light yesterday, and upon doing a little bit of searching on the interwebs I found that CAIs are know to cause lean codes. The thing is, I actually have a SAFC-II still installed from when I had my turbo, just running at 0% adjustment for fuel levels.

My question is, can I adjust the SAFC for low and high throttle levels so that the car doesn't run lean and the CEL doesn't come on? And if so, what % increases should i do for different RPMs? I'm on stock injectors btw. Right now I am thinking like 5-10% increase across the board for lo-points and 10-15$% across for hi-points???

A CAI isn't likely to cause a 7A-FE or a 5S-FE to run lean. That's more for MAF cars where the sensor hasn't been properly installed or the alignment of the bracket isn't 100% dead on on the aftermarket CAI causing the airflow reading to be slightly incorrect.

No - this doesn't apply to you. Your sensor does not require proper alignment within the airflow.
This is why I said it's unlikely that the CAI is your problem. Most likely you just forgot to hook something up or did so improperly
