gt front motor mount install - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #69019 5 posts Started by CELL_PROTOTYPE_X
I just got a new front motor mount off a gt for my 3sgte swap and while installing it I noticed about a 1/4 inch gap between the crossmember and the bottom of the mount. I was still able to get the 2 bolts started that connect the mount and when fully tightened the mount sits flush with the crossmemeber. The question I have is if this is ok or if I need to add a spacer or something. Let me know. THANKS!

Also, do I need to put nuts at the end of the bolts that are connecting the mount to the frame? Doesn't seem like there is any room for them and I didn't notice a nut in the gt motor mount diagram, but I thought I'd double check smile.gif
you NEED gt4 motormounts. least headache that way
I thought I could use gt front, but would need gt4 rear. The gt mount seems to line up just fine...just have an issue with spacing.
No more input on this? Guess I'll eventually get gt4 mounts....until then I'll make this work smile.gif
i say run it and if it starts to fail, then get the GT4 mount. Nothing wrong with a little trial and error. I would probably mount everything else up though to make sure it doesn't mess with final angles. Also, make sure its not pulling on the rear GT4 mount to much and makes that fail as well.
