Brake Caliper Brackets - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #69073 5 posts Started by CelicaGTSboy23
Hey everyone,

I have a 94 and I have run into a problem. First time owner and not sure of any tricks with the brakes on these cars. My caliper bracket bolts are seized. The 14mm's in the rear and the 17mm's in the front.

I was wondering if you know any tricks to get them out? I have tried penetrating oil, WD40, Rust Check and using an impact gun. Only other method I know is to heat them and crack them out. Any other ideas?? Please let me know. Going nuts, and have all the brake stuff ready to go on.

Thanks in advance for your help.
did you soak then in penetrating oil?? soaked mines for 30mins in penetrating oil. then after tried to move it while shooting oil.

tried banging the bolt?? if its seized i would use a cheater bar(long one lolz) instead of an impact. much safer for this situation.

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
have tried to use a breaker bar... but no movement. i left the bolts for about an hour. Had to use other car to run an earrand. No movement. Should i try it again??
there is one that freezes them and mini cracks them. cant remember. try searching in this forum/
