So you want to throw ATF up in your MT? I would find where the leak is coming from by cleaning the spots around where you think it might be coming from and locating the leak, and go from there. Now I dont have a MT (running AT), but im pretty sure that the celica MT was not designed to use ATF.

That is the wrong thing to put in your MT.

If you suspect your MT of leaking, check the axle seals, follow the axle into where it enters the transmission, and see if it is leaking from right there. Any kind of stop leak is not really as good as fixing the problem.

I would like to change it myself but i would like to know which is the correct one to use. I was searching on autozone and all results show only ATF kindasad.gif

thanks for letting me know its not the right one.
what other manual tranny fluid would you recommend besides Pennzoil Synchromesh?

God made man....Everything else...Made in China
none T__T i found ATF in my manny tranny stupid previous owner. 75w-90 synthetic gear oil is what you should use unless your synchro rings are going........like mines frown.gif i guess teh atf detergents screwed everything.

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
I see. Has anyone used seafoam trans tune?

God made man....Everything else...Made in China
I was thinking about using that, but I thin its formulated for AT...correct me if im wrong. But as far as MT goes, most the guys on here use penzoil syncromesh....i guess. As far as a leak, the best advice I have is to found out where its leaking from first, then go about fixing the problem.

That's for automatics. You're best bet is to get a cleaner like brake parts cleaner and spray off the transmission. Drive the car a couple days then look at the tranny and see if you can isolate the leak. Almost anything you buy that says it's formulated for a transmission or is labeled transmission fluid is meant for an automatic.
