Brake Line replacement - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #69261 5 posts Started by dubb_head
Hello,

I am new to Celicas and recently signed up here at 6gc.

I've picked up a 94 GT-S Canadian model. The car is in great shape except for the rusty rear brake lines.

Has anyone done theirs and could chime in with some tips about the repair.

I am planning on working on a driveway. I will lift the car as high as I can but I have no access to a hoist.

Thanks.

make sure you are using correctly sized box wrenches as the fittings can strip easy.
If they do strip you a set of vice-grips, they work wonders

start at the wheels and work your way in smile.gif
make sure you're not letting it sit on the jack

always use jack stands

Hey all,

Thanks for the replies, I am just going right now to get my new rear brake lines from the dealer. $169 CDN taxes in.....

I will start on them soon and let you guys know how it went.

Right now, my concern is getting to the p-valve on the firewall in the engine bay. Looks to be a very tight spot.
