i was wondering if 8" wide rims would fit on our cars and not have any clearance problems. I want to get some 18x8 rims and want to know if they will cause a problem.
does any body have 8" wide rims - 6G Celicas Forums
I know that ka2 has 17x8" rims on his car, and they're what he uses for circuit racing, so he doesn't rub with them.
What is the offset on the rims that you want to get?

i believe the offset is 40+ but im not sure it could be 38+ but thanks for the answer. i think i will just have a wheel shop put some on and see if there is problems.
i have 19x8 in front and 19x9 in rear...no problems
Dang, 19'x9 you gottta pic? I would like to see that... But why put somthing that wide... I only had 17x9 on my bimmer in the rear cause its rear wheel drive...

i have 18x8" with 215/35/18 tires and there fine. the only problem is the car needs to be lowered to help fill in the wheel well

to the people with 18's, i'm worried that with the already stiff supension and 215/35 tires i will feel every bump rattle my car to oblivion.
and with that big a wheel does it slow the car down enough that it is noticable.

will 8.5" wide fit on our cars??
i can get a set of 18's with the 8.5" wide for a good price.

Yes, it does slow it down, you would want to stick with the smallist stock size to race, then for show, just through on the nice one's....
whats the offset usually set for?
I believe its 35-45. Correct me if im wrong.
looks like i got the widest at 225 :-p w00t >

to all the guys that have 8 to 8.5 wide rims, are your cars lowred? i want to get 17X8 rims but my car is lowered 1.5 on eibach sportline's. won't it rub if i get wider rims??
I have TRD springs and 17x8 OZ wheels and it doesn't rub
I have 17"x8" with potenza 225 or 235 (not sure >
> not yet registered and only drive it twice a month) They are o.k. but keep in mind that i have them on the GT4. I put them once on my ST206 curren and i think they were a bit too much.
Personally i think you cannot go wrong with 17x7.5 as i have seen hundreds of 6g celis having them with no prob. focus on rim design and tyre choice

20 X 8.5'S HERE NO PROBLEM EITHER.
