I know doing this on a 7a-fe is not really going to do much, but until I decide what kind of swap I want to do, I was wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to make/mod a corvette style ram air intake? On the 96+ models we have fog lights, and if we don't have them installed...well why not make some use for those spots?
In case anybody's wondering, I think this is aftermarket:

But that's what I'm talking about.
Only reason I ask is because I saw a corvette with these at an audio shop recently, and my drop-in k&n intake seems to suffer from the heat a hot engine produces - despite the heat shield.
I mean the difference in power with a cold engine and a warm engine is indescribable. The car jumps forward out of second if you floor it when it's cold, or accelerates quickly if you step on it gently. With a warm engine, you only get the quick acceleration no matter what you do, there's no jump or g-force of any kind generated.
Also, I know a cold engine is better for horsepower, but is the differnce on a 7a-fe with iridium plugs/ngk wires and a k&n intake really that different?
