You used the alignment tool to get a perfect line for the shaft right? Sometimes if it gets hung on the shaft rotating the trans ever so slightly can do the trick. BTW i never need assistance when doing it this way and it's not very tiring either.
I tried balancing it on the jack too but I couldn't it keep from falling over I just hate how its so cramp in the engine bay too and yes I used the alignment tool and greased everything also used thread locker on the flywheel bolts and torqed to specs thanks for the advice.
