i have an extra wire right where the back trunk light is, i dont know what it is for, maybe someone else would? figured it out you can delete thank you

Pictures would help us help you. You're being awfully generic when you say you have an extra wire. Does it have a plug on it? Which rear light? Tail light or 3rd brake light?
If you want help you're going to need to be more specific.

To which of the five wires pictured are you referring?
You have no antenna. There's your problem. Those wires are for your antenna.

i have an antenna the wire with the WHITE adapter on the end the only wire hanging out, it's been like that since i got it.
maybe to abs, i had a couple of those. unless you pic colors and a pic of the plug itself to identify

Do you have the factory Toyota power antenna? And is it plugged in?

Power antenna ftl. I hate the power antenna. I can't wait until I have mine filled.
But since the harness is right there, I'm betting you have a manual antenna, and that is just the harness plug for the powered unit.

There you go. It's the power wire for the power antenna. I've done a lot of crap with my antenna, and I just recently got a new one in the car and I'm done messing with it. The other two wires, the black ones, are the actual antenna wire that go to the back of your radio.
