Can anyone give me a pic of a 'face lift' and/or grill upgrade for my car that is simple to do??
Face Lift - 6G Celicas Forums
Still don't know what a face lift is for our generation celica? I hear about it here and there. Pre-face lift, after face lift...what does this mean? Does it look good?
The face lift deals with our cars getting lipo suction, plastic surgery, boob enhancements, etc....lol I'm kidding.
94-95 front bumpers Mainly STs and some GTs "The Smiley Ones" are pre-face lift
96-99 front bumpers Mainly GTs and some STs "The Fanged Bucked Tooth Ones" are the face lift
You sir have a face lift 96 GT. Look at your front bumper and then look at mine in my profile. That should give you a clue. Majority of the time adding some Home Depot or Menards grills to them gives them "some" if any bling factor to them.
Here's a link of SS-III stuff that includes the grill.

Facelift cars (96-99) also have a 3-post spoiler, the 94-95 had a two-post. I personally like the facelift front bumper with the 2-post (pre-facelift) spoiler.
I totally agree with the OP. It took me several weeks to figure out the difference between pre/post facelift, there's no sticky or definite thread on it. Despite how obvious it is once you know it, it's a hassle to find threads on it.
Edit:
Pre-facelift (94-95):

Thanks Guys, that was easy to learn!
It is easy, I'm surprised you didn't know.
Personally, I'd recommend some splitters, or you could also do the aforementioned SS-III grill.

That's the thing. It's such a simple thing, but the lack of a definite post/thread while searching makes it difficult to learn at first. It took me a while to get a comparison in my head about the difference in the front bumpers. I also had no clue at first that the 3-post spoiler was a facelift change, I'd always thought it was an optional thing on all 6GCs.
Which would beg the question of why anyone would want to pick it, I think it looks terrible compared to the 2-post (though it's not too bad, just relatively bad).

I don't mind the three post but I would like to get that duck bill looking spoiler as I have been told it is called.
I do have front splitters.
