Subs in a GT4 - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #69889 20 posts Started by nammer
I was wondering where I can run the positive wire through the firewall on the GT4. Drilling a hole in the firewall would be my last resort but if there is an easier solution then that would be great.

Please post pictures if you can so it's easier for me to see where to go through.

In my GT theres a port in the engine bay that goes to the wheel well. Put that throught that and then theres another port that comes into the car. If your gt4 has the same, you will have to take off your wheel and splash guard. Like the previous post theres a sticky or something that shows pic of what im talking about.

Thanks
I'll look through the stickies and will link it here in case someone else found my thread by searching

I found that bung thing you speak of and it did have an arrow on it haha...It's getting kinda dark out so I will have to look into where it leads to tomorrow...
Will i need to take out the glove box to pull the wire through with more ease? I'll fiddle around tomorrow but if you have any other tips on take out the glove box then that'd be great

thanks in advance

I wired mine through fender and under dash. Then from dash under carpets and rear seat to the trunk.

I'll look into doing it that way too if it seems easier

look where the loom goes through the firewall, passenger side, near the tower, pop a small hole in there and poke it through, it'l come out (if you poke it right) down at the passengers feet.

Here are the pictures from my install:

(ignore that the wire after the fuse doesn't go into the fuse housing. That pic was from when I was running the wire.)

Those pics are so old. I don't have that CAI or that battery anymore.

So here are some of my pictures

Step 1: cut a slit into the rubber boot and feed the power wire though

Step 2: pull it out from under the glove box on the passenger side

Step 3: pop off the button that holds the panel below the glove box to tuck the wire behind it (purple wire is from amp to back of deck)

Step 4: pop off the door sill and tuck it as shown

Step 5: tuck it between the rear passenger seat and pull it through to the trunk

Step 6: wire up the amp and put the power wire into the "battery" slot. Blue wire goes from amp to sub, purple goes from amp to back to deck, thin purple is the remote wire also going to back of deck, and the red wire is the ground.

Step 7: ground the ground wire to the frame of the trunk (red ground in previous picture was too short so i joined it with a brown wire of the same gauge, should change it soon)

Step 8: tidy up the power wire in the engine bay, ADD a fuse, connect it up, test it out, and put the panels back together

For the amp install, did you run new wires from each speaker to the amp or did you tap in to the ones at back of the deck?
