^ truth.
Less rotational mass= best
15x7 would be great. 16x7 will work well too. 17" wheels are pretty heavy. You'll be forking out the big bucks for a lightweight 17" wheel.

I had 15" (with tyre weighed ~15kg, I dunno if you'd call them light?) Go for 16" good size still and style wise aswell, 15" looked far to small.

here ya go
http://www.wheelweights.net/most brand name wheels are there
btw, how much does steelies weigh?
God made man....Everything else...Made in China
I think the best option is swap the 7gen celica rims+tires...
the rims are cheap and not that heavy to be oem, the space in the rims is enought to put in it a larger brake system, they are nice for the 6gen and the tire are not to tall, and not to short, good to encrease the corniring forse (with a reaaly good sunspension set up). The tire size is easy to find and cheaper than a 215/40R17 (i learned it at my own) and its tall enought to copy the asphalt, 215/40 R17 tires made my car surely fantastic, and better than before, but a bit too nervous...i'm sure that with a 205/50 R16 set it would be fine and interesting to handle running at high speed...and if u buy 4 spacers too it will look reaaaally good
spacers?.......whats that

some look like big washers. they bring your wheel closer to the guards (to help clear brake calipers and to get the nice flush look), you have to be careful though you should have atleast 6 turns on your wheel nuts.

the best r the enkei rpf1's in 15in are 9.5 lbs each
Tell me what you look for
To be faster cornering: largest as u can, with not too short (205/50-55R16 or 215/50-45R16 will be fine) and with a low ET (increasing the distance between the centre of the tires is the faster way to increase your cornering speed). But the steering whell will be heavy and return fast in position after the corner
To be faster accelerating: the smallest diameter you can
Do not reduce too much the distance from the fender, it will increase forces that will make your car harder to drive, and not as safe as before.

wow almost forgot i had this post on here.........just learned somewhat bout offset and spacers on another post......so what im really looking for is good show as well as performance......plans: flushed and have performance on street, and at the drags....would like to take it to x races some day....drift is out of questoin since its frnt wheel drive.....drag however i think itll all have to do away with street rims and tires, slicks in frnt small what nots in back
