One thing, I have the following stocked pulley - 3SGE, 7AFE, 4AGE
Don't have 5SFE, dunno 5S could share the same pulley with 3S? anyone know?>>>>

A quick check showed me that the crank pulley on my ST215 3SGTE was slightly smaller than the 5SFE crank pulley I had sitting in the garage.

ST215 3SGTE 136mm Alternator & AC belt Outside Diameter 100mm Power Steering belt Outside Diameter
ST184 5SFE 145mm Alt & AC belt OD 100mm PS belt OD
ST202 5SFE 145mm Alt & AC belt OD 100mm PS belt OD

I don't have the 3SGTE crank pulley off right now so I can't measure the inside diameter (Crank hole). I'll probably get to it later this week as I'm working on my 3SGTE to get it ready to put it in my convertible.

uh 5s-fe in the st202? I think not

St202 3s-fe, 3s-ge. jdm

at200 7a-fe usd

3sgte and 3sge are the same pulley

LOL i was thinking the same thing

just a quick question but aren't the pulleys for these cars balanced for their particular engine?

yes, but the lighter they are the less moving mass biggrin.gif easier to get those rpm's up!

If its done in a quick-ish time line (before i install timing belt here soon) you could probably count me in.

Just to give people a heads up, if you look at your harmonic balancer (as they are otherwise called) they have a layer of rubber between the innerm metal part that bolts to your crank and the outer ring that the belts run on. This is there to get rid of the "harmonic resonance" in the cranks and POSSIBLY make them run smoother and less chance of things going pear shaped, especially at high rpm. Toyota put things there for a reason in my opinion.

Im not trying to diswade you from buying this dudes product, i just thought you should know the facts before you commit to anything.

There is no doubt lighter rotating mass is good though.

My bad. Yes the 5SFE is from a ST204. I've been searching Ebay for ST205 & ST202 parts for months. I got it stuck in my head somehow. Speaking of EBAY, I know I've seen a lightened 3SGTE pulley on their before. Iirc there was some issue of weather the 3SGTE was from a Celica or MR2 due to the belt setups. I don't know for sure, but I wanted to throw that out there in case it really is a problem.

I was under the impression that the rubber piece in the harmonic balancer acted kind of like Dynamat as it helps absorb or dampen vibrations from the engine. Isn't that due more for reduced noise, vibration & harshness (NVH), rather than to prevent things from going pear or egg shaped. It's definitely their for a reason, no doubt. Who here runs a lightened pulley? Does it vibrate more at a certain RPM than before?

last time i checked, i don't remember seeing anything rubber on the 5sfe crank pulley.

vince, you probably should state what sort of metal will be used or if there's any sort of additional manufacturing treatment the pulleys will undergo to resist warp against engine bay heat and high rpms. the last thing you'd want is for these to go bad on people.

sounds pretty good to me. Question is which one pulley it should be? Or it should be any of below?

If there is clear answer what part we talking about I can find in EPC if part numbers are the same for all Celica engines...

on the mr2 the alternators is down basically where the power steering pump is on the 3s-g

so the grooved sections where the belts run are the same diameter, insted of the inner one being smaller like the 3s.

I have some answers folks about that crank pulley compatibility (according to OEM part numbers) seems we have 5 different ones:

US 7AFE
13470-16090

EURO 7AFE (I can send it to Vincent since I have one on my old 7AFTE but I do not think there will be anyone from Europe with 7AFE who wants it)
13470-16050

5SFE and 3SFE
13408-74041

3rd gen 3SGE (non Beams)
13407-88380

3SGTE and 4th gen 3SGE (Beams)
13407-88480

what is real difference (material, size... anything) I do not know...
