Heard that the BG turbos espicially the S272/273 area direct fit onto the std Toyota manifold??
Can anybody confirm this??

yes, but it's the 3S-GTE stock manifold, not the 5S-FE manifold.... (for people that are new to the mechanical side of the celica)

yes but 3sfte manifold bolts right onto 5sfe.

If you are turbocharging a 5sfe you have to change the exhaust manifold. You cannot hook up any turbo to the 5sfe manifold...therefore if you but a 3sgte manifold and this kit it will bolt up just fine ...With my old set up I needed an adapter flange but that is not needed here for either 5sfe with 3sgte manifold or just a 3sgte.

The Borg Warner turbos do not come with any custom turbine housings from the factory to fit the OEM Toyota manifolds.

As noted by a couple folks above, We (EMSPowered) do make a custom kit with a custom designed/machined turbine housing that will bolt directly onto the 3sgte exhaust manifold. We can set it up to fit the gen1, gen2, or gen3 OEM exhaust manifold.

If you are on a 5sfe your only option to turbo it is to use a 3sgte exhaust manifold, or make your own exhaust manifold. If you use a 3sgte exhaust manifold, our turbo kit will bolt right on. Most commonly used are the gen2 3sgte Exhaust manifold on the 5sfe.
