I am having a bit of a problem guys and just wanted some feedback on what you think the problem might be.

My car was in the shop for an alignment and balancing a month ago and I noticed the the drivers side front brake pad is wearing a lot faster than all the other pads.
How much faster? It has about half the meat left on is as the other pads.

I already bought new Hawk Ceramic pads however after I found this problem I'm not ganna waste another set of pads.

Any ideas on what it might be? Bad brake like? 3 bad brake lines and 1 good? Any ideas... throw them at me. Thanks.

your passenger side brake caliper is broken. this makes you only use one side of brake pads for all the braking power.

Or his driver-side caliper is seized closed and is under constant wear -- the most likely explanation is that one or the other of your calipers is seized (I heard once of someone having a clogged brakeline, every other time it's been the calipers). Fairly easy to figure out which one, have the car up and turn the wheel. If the driver's side won't turn with the brakes off, or turns with difficulty, it's that side. If the passenger's side turns with the brakes applied, it's that side.

Spend $20 on a rebuild kit or $50 on a remanufactured caliper, and problem solved.

Thanks guys. Yea when it was on the lift (was getting exhaust done) the drivers side which is the side where its worn didn't want to spin as freely as passengers side so I'll look into what you said.

caliper rebuild kit if you wanna save money, piston must be stuck. double check if your rotors are warped too while you are at it.

The rotors are fine I just swapped them out a year ago and like I said was going to change the pads a month ago before I relalized the problem.

Thank you again guys for helping to isolate the problem. It's now on my to do list along with my alternator, timing belt/water pump. Should be done next Tuesday.

Then I can let you all know how the Hawk Ceramic pads are

One of the caliper pins was jammed so yeah.... good call on what's wrong with the brakes.

Got my Hawk Ceramic on there now... I'll see how they do since we're in deer season.
