Power Steering Belt - 6G Celicas Forums

I tightened it after making sure the belt was still in great condition! Every time I accelerate it squeals for a split second at 3K rpm in the first three gears...what's the problem?? No leaks or funny steering issues at all.

ive had a squeel in first gear from 1-2k rpm for about 6 months. and it goes away after i drive it for 5-10 mins. always been there. kinda gotten use to it. just dont care anymore.
your power steering pump might be on the way out making the belt slip. OR your belt may have been glazed from all the slipping. Try getting a new belt.
I'll check that out, last thing I want is a bad pump. Thanks
see and feel the belt for cracks, if they are good, you can try belt dressing it helps for a while, I'd say replace the belt though since they are cheap.

Had the belt changed today. It seems fine but I am skeptical about it. I'll post up if I have any more noises. Thanks guys.
