So this Nor Cal-So Cal meet thing seems like its going to take a while to sort out. Lets try to come up with a good location a to meet and go cruise in Nor Cal. Maybe Sac or San Fran idk. Opinions?
Let's do a Nor Cal meet - 6G Celicas Forums

Navigating through SF would be a bitch for people that aren't used to it. I'd nominate somewhere else; something off Hwy1?

Yeah, I was just suggesting places. I know that where I live is perfect because I have curvy mountain roads eveywhere but I dount anyone would drive to the middle of nowhere. I just would like to get something going.

Definitely, I'm all for it. I'm down in the south bay, but for more 6gc owners, I'll drive somewhere.

I now think people should propose locations and dates that are somewhat central to all of our locations. Even though I'm like an hour from reno I would be willing to drive to San Fran. or somewhere fun.
Vacaville?sacramento?

im definitely down for NorCal meet.
Alright,
Sounds like a majority of us are coming from surrounding areas, so the first question should be what part of Northern California. Do we want to do it in any of the bays (North, South, East)?
Also sounds like some people aren't going to know our area extremely well, so meeting at Hwy 1/Hwy 9 is going to be a pain for most people. Best bet is to meet somewhere central and go from there.
I think somewhere close to SF would be easiest and is most likely the best compromise from everyone (I'd love the south bay, but that's because I'm down here...) For the people that are out of state/don't go to SF often, it'll more than likely be a pain to navigate through it, which is why I think it should be somewhere near SF, and not in SF.
If anyone wants to hop on Google Maps and scout out a decent meet up spot, I'm sure we'd all appreciate it. Maybe somewhere close to the SF airport? Don't know of any good spots out there...

maybe we can invite the newcelica guys too. they have more experience with norcal meets than we do and can probably think of something good. it's always more fun with more people =)

I'll get my buddy to post a thread and link it to this one. I'm sure we can get some 7th gens to show up.

hwy 1 anywhere besides Pacifica is hell to drive in my opinion. I took that down to San Luis Obispo once, and it was hell. Sure twisties are fun for a couple of miles but not for 60+.
SF really isn't all that hard to nav. Dowtown yeah it sure is but the rest really, its not bad. Well, I take that back I've been driving there for years so I know the tricks by heart lol.
I would suggest Elk Grove. A suburban city about 12 miles away from Sacramento, with a lot of great parking lots to admire cars and some pretty interesting roads to drive on. All flat (unless you know how to go to Jackson or Roseville, which I do
. Vacaville is about 30-50 minutes away (depending on traffic) but there's a nice stretch of highway between Stockon and Elk Grove where people often go 90+.
edit: or better yet, Pacifica. It is a great place to drive. Anywhere outside of it I'm not a fan of, but Pacifica is fun

i am really into this idea for a meet and would love to drive up to join in, i have a couple of concerns though....
1. i need time to book off work so can we land a date so i can arange it?
2. i don't know the area well but i only have 2 1/2" of ground clearance so if we can avoid anywhere with big "dips"
or entry's it would help me out.
please keep this in mind as i would love to come, i'll keep an eye on this for any futher info, thanks...
