well, lots of things. the other two just weren't as good as this one. and this one was closer, down in Milwaukee about an hour and a half's drive from me. Too much work involved with the other two. Also, just don't have the space or time to do what i had wanted to with the other too. price was about the same. around $900.

So, I drove down there with my girlfriend to check it out. Turns out the guy works at a body shop, had this car in the back and need space for work. I take one look and i'm pretty much sold. Even though there's some body work done on it obviously and a cheap paint job, i didn't really care. surprisingly not really all that much rust on it at all. so that made me really happy! talk to the guy a bit about when and how i'm gonna get the car. So, he says hey my boss just bought a dolly, I could just tow it up for you. I say yeah, and the guy and his buddy tow the car to my place and even helped push it into the garage for me. nice guys. all in all, wonderful weekend. ! the car starts but i think it's sumthing with the timing or could just be a bad carb. who knows? anyways, I'm super happy about this! but gotta wait til thanksgiving break to start tearing it apart. hahahaaha. right now, I"m buried in Homework and papers.

but yeah, i was sold on this one because of the body. that's really what got me since living in WI
it's hard to find a car with as little rust as this.
mechanical issues won't cost as much as bodywork, i'm believe.

that makes mine look like a pile of rust T__T

It was one of those "I've got the money and I've wanted one since I was 16" type of things.... Unfortunately, I didn't do my research on the trouble spots until after I blew the motor on the way home from picking up the car....







That's how she looked when I bought her.... And I never did get pics of the rusty floorboards....
I've since been in an accident which made me replace basically the entire front end. Here's a quick pic of how she looks now (the passenger fender is now red again XD)

yeah, i got your PM. and I've heard about the guy, been researching 1gc.com for a while so i'm aware of that option, but i'm bidding on a chrome rear smiley right now so we'll see if i get that first.

alllll right, an update. kinda late but these are from a while back.
I started the tear down on it and found some rust but hey, it's a 30+ year old car so w/e.
stripped the interior and got most of the chrome parts off, lights, bumper, turns, etc.

body filler on the hood was cracking so i stripped it to see the damage.



finally got to the sound deadening. this stuff is nasty!
just chipping away.


i heard you could use dry ice to help it come out but... !

and that's the update so far. let me know what you guys think or if you got any ideas.

for the engine i'm gonna try and get it running right first. so i might stick with the good ol 20R for a bit.
Later I'm thinking about doing a hybrid 20R/22R OR try and find a 7mgte or 1jz and throw that sucker in there.

wow, now you have got me worried, what will i find underneath my carpet...

well ur down south so I don't think you'll get that much rust. I hate WI hahahha. But yeah, definitely do a tear down on urs. get rid of the moldy carpet and sound deadening. save u abuot 40 pounds. check those spots that i pointed out for rust. usually it's the wheel wells, floor pans, spare tire well, fenders, and around the windshields. I'm sure urs isn't as bad as mine.
