Inner cv joint and bypass hose part# - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #71125 3 posts Started by nookiemonsta
Im hearing a click/knock when decelerating sounds like its coming from the lh side i got under and had a look lh side seemed fine but the rh side grease is everywhere around the inner boot couldnt find a split in it though. Any ideas what else it could be? if it was a inner joint how much are they and how easy is it to do? and how long would it take to fix? Also there is abit of play when i move the shafts from side to side more so in the drivers side and more of a knock...

I have been trying to get a new bypass hose well i think it is anyway anyone know the part# i tried at supercheap but none of their hoses are the same as mine it looks like this

thanks
Inner joints? I suggest you replace the whole axle. As far as your hose goes, you can get a new one from Toyota or get one measured and cut from a auto parts store. I suggest something sturdy and strong like a Power steering hose if its being used for oil.
A COMPLETE DRIVE AXLE FOR YOUR CAR SHOULD RUN YOU ABOUT 47 USD. I WOULD RECOMEND YOU DOING THE WHOLE AXLE. AND IT MAY EVEN BE CHEAPER THAN BUYING JUST AN END.
ABOUT THE HOSE IF YOU WANT TO GO CHEAP YOU CAN USE A REGULAR HOSE JUST A LITTLE LONGER THAN USUAL SO YOU CAN BEND IT IN SHAPE WITH OUT CHOCKING THE FLUID FLOW.
