Does everyone here who has a celica, have another car to drive in the winter months? Would you recommand having one around if you are able to? I have a van which i can drive in the winter months if i need to.... should I ? Is the winter the best time to get body work and mods done?
Thanks guys
when my car gets done i wont drive it when it snows, i'll drive my pimp 84 buick lesabre. HAHA
If you have a body kit then I wouldn't recomend driving it in the winter. If not, just get a second set of rims(if you have aftermarket rims) to throw some snow tires on and have fun.
I've driven my Celica in the snow on many occasions. It handled it much better than my Hyundai Excel ever did(used to live in KS which got as much snow as Massachusetts where I also lived).
I don't even have a Celica to drive in the snow, but if I did, I wouldn't drive it in the snow, because I don't want all that salt and gravel that they put down eating up my paint.
New Toyota project coming soon...
what is this snow everyone is talking about?
here in SoCal, in summer its hot and in winter its less hot.
no snow, not much rain, AND NO SALT

yeah right now im desperatly searching for a car to dive in winter- and not finding anything that runs under a grand... I dont want to have my celica even touch salt, but it looks it may have to this winter...
Car #3: 98 Accord LX- purchased 5/06, totaled 8/06Car #2: 95 Celica GT- purchased 8/03, current daily driverCar #1: 01 Focus ZX3- purchased 5/01, sold 8/03
i just bought a 94 Jeep Grand cherikee for the winter. i had a 91 blazer that had 197000 miles on. South Dakota gets some good snow and ice i wish i lived in Az.
Yeah, I got a paintjob in December, so I really wanna keep it inside. They really overdo the salt here. I dont have a beater, so I'm gonna be walking to work, and stealing my dad's truck if I need to go anywhere. First car I find for $100, it's mine.
I'm with 97sccelica, what is this "snow" you're talking about? In Dallas, it will snow, AT MOST, 2 days out of the year, and even then, it's rare that that amount gets above 1". However, whenever it ices or does actually snow, the roads are waaaaaay oversalted and oversanded. It's terrible.. maybe I oughta look into a 2nd car.. lmao.. one car to drive for 5 days out of the year. Insurance would rock my socks off.

I'm on the other end of the spectrum...my Celi is my winter car lol. I could say on thing though, I wish it was the GT4...I'd have so much on the snowy roads we get here. And yeah, my car gets salted daily when it snows...actually it just snowed last night and it's still on the ground so I'm expecting that I'll be driving on salt today. SOLUTION: Wash the car twice a week...especially the underbody!
