Topic #7130 27 posts Started by snadman
If you guys want, post one that's under 25k...then another one if you had like 35k to spend, because I know there's like the WRX/Evo in that next step up. Please vote and give reasons...I will base my decision on what you guys tell me.

I like the mazda speed protege, I would say the mazda6 because its a hot car but they put a ford engine in it, why god why?!?! >cwm13.gif>
I would have said Mazda but for some strange reason my family doesn't have good luck with mazda cars... we tend to filp them crash them or get them stolen.. so i chose the SRT-4 power + price really hard to beat that..

We should change this to MazdaSpeed Protege, Dodge Srt-4, and VW Jetta poll...no one else goes for the rest of 'em.

In the 25k range I would probably say the Matrix XRS(awd).
I know it's a sports wagon, but it's still got 4 doors. It lists at 19,265(probably around 23k at the dealer) and there is already a turbo kit out for that engine since the Celica GT and MR-S share the 1zz as well.

If you step up to 35k, the 4 door Infiniti G35($29,850 with the 6speed), or the Lexus IS300(5spd is $29,980). The G35 shares most of it's features with the 350z, but has the comfort of 4 doors. And the Lexus is just a damn nice car(with the 2JZ-GE, NA Supra engine).
Hey , if goign between just them go for the mazda speed, it has the most options and would be the best pics, the srt dodge is hot, has everything you ned an runs 14 1/4 mile stock.... but dodge are junk, if your looking for a nice car like you said a little higher, go with like The 2004 A4 1.8 T starting at $25,940*, or one of my favorite all times, bmw... the 325i is only 27800, and that would give you the best performance and last the longest..... I just had my 91 525i totaled, i still have it an runns great not a single oil leak or a single prob with 160k on it
I picked the mazda 6. It's pretty cool looking car for the price. But for a little more money i would but an Acura TSX. They are awesome and fast cars.

dodge really isn't that bad. The only problem is it's a dodge, you know?

It's cheap because it's not subject to the tarrifs and such that I believe are applied to the prices of all imported cars.

Plus, the dodge owned the mazdaspeed on the road course. The mazda might corner better, but there is no substitute for that kind of WRX bashing power. >wink.gif>

Oh yea, and DOWN WITH THE FOCUS!
i like the new accords, specially a two door. I dunno if they are under 25k, but my mom's 2000 was 22k and its really nice...just thought id throw a different one in there( a sedan that would be used as a sedan lol) >rolleyes.gif>
Alright...I read all replies and it's kind of mixed. I definitely want power. I'm very much so considering a STi...just not too sure on the price and if I like it you know. My comments on the others...

The new Accords are kinda crappy to drive. I test drove one last weekend and it really wasn't that hot. Actually the only car I enjoyed driving at the Honda lot was the brand new S2000 which was pretty fun.

The Mazda6 is nice, but actually more expensive than the MazdaSpeed. My friend just got a Speed yesterday though, so if it was the Mazda6s with the 3.0L V6 and also a manual I might look into it. My parents have a 96 626 LX with the JDM KL-ZE swap and it drives like crazy...mad fast and total sleeper. I am definitely baised towards Mazda nad Toyota since I drive htme both and love them.

The idea of an AWD car gave light to the WRX, the Evo, or maybe selling my car to pay for shipping/taxes/whatnot and importing a GT4. That would be crazy. I don't know, i'm just glad so many fo you gave some valuable input.

I will check out the VW and audi lots this weekend. I have yet to check out the 1.8T's and am anxious to see how they feel.

Another thing, the Speed...well I guess I don't knwo yet cuz my friend dirves the hting like it is running on one cylinder, but I don't know how much power it actually has. It does have some bumpin features though...kick arsenal system, nice rims, great tires, boost, neat styling features...but I have yet to feel the boost. He said I could drive it today but then i'd never be able to drive it again and I said no...I have an RX to drive if I wanted to feel power lol. I'm just looking for a fun sedan for the winter...plus my girlfriend has a baby so it's kinda what I need.

i picked the srt-4 simply for power vs. price i have heard of some reliability issues with them though. oh and under 35k, my hands down favorite is the lexus is300/toyota altezza. an inline 6 with that much potential superb handling and a factory torsen lsd!!!!
wow looks like something really nice..
