Yes, the site is dying. But it has been for a long time, and barring catastrophic failure it probably won't completely die out any time soon. Even if the site does crash, Coomer fixes it in a day or two. Granted, he's not updating the site, but at least he fixes it when it crashes. There used to be more members on here. Most sold their cars. Then new members stepped up and replaced them. One day, most of the members you see on here now will be gone, but by that time you will be one of the knowledgeable members of 6gc.

Like everyone else said, it's the holidays right now. Things will pick back up soon enough. Even then, this website will still be the same few people.

i usually check daily.. but don't post a whole lot anymore... kinda got bashed for my "spray paint paintjobs".. so kinda lost interest in participating in project posts..

but what I really miss are the crazy project cars.. there are a few going on now, but i remember back in the day having threads with 200+ pages of people doing supra tail lights, front end conversions.. etc.. that was always awesome to see and follow up on..

It does seem like a lot of guys are selling their cars.. :-/ I breifly thougth of selling mine to get a truck but i'm so glad I didn't.. almost every day walking out of work, i look at my car and just get excited knowing thats my car and it looks great..

Just stick with the site, you will find the 6gc community may be slow at the moment, but its a true great club.. So many car guys are stuck up and just flat out mean... most people with 6gc's are willing to help and knowledgable about the cars. smile.gif

Thanks 6gc. smile.gif

The general economy is also not helping. People are just trying to keep their cars running let alone mod them or buy a new/different one. Give it time. About a dozen 6th gens appeared in my area of Charlotte out of no where.

I only signed up yesterday because this site offers so much more than most of the others i have checked and its free to sign up! Kinda annoying when things are bulk in US bacdk here in the UK it seems JDM parts for the faff are as rare as rocking horse sh*t.

im sure the members will be back, like they say it is holidays and cold. most DIYers here dont wanna be out in the cold doing bits to the car and its to expensive to take it to a garage.

Im always checking this site, loads of useful info and 2 days has teached me alot already. Thanks for the community guys and keep up the good work!

I can pretty much echo what everyone here has said...I would be devastated if this site died, and I for sure log in everyday. Additionally, I try to help when I can with my limited knowledge, and having said that, I'd like to learn so much more. This site needs to stay, and as long as it does, I will. thumbsup.gif

Of course, the people that do make this site, did the innovative swaps, and own the 'iconic' cars deserve all the thanks.

I've been on here a LONG time, and it does seem like it's slowing down a bit. The biggest thing I notice is there are a lot more of the same questions asked over and over, like "how can I fit a 2jz in my car" and "I want to make 50 more hp but don't have any money". There's a good presence here, and it seems like there are some newer members taking on some big projects and some awesome cars here, but not quite the following there used to be on here.

Personally I know I frequent the site less. Mostly because my Celica is my DD with a ton of miles on it, and I've focused all my performance/customization stuff toward motorcycles. I love my car, but in all honesty it's getting to be an old car, and will probably be replaced by something more performance-oriented when it dies.

its the holidays,quit bitching.. smile.gif

BANNED. for life, you moron.
i personally cut back from trying to give input on here since there were people on here that kept telling me that i was wrong on car tech stuff. i know that i'm not always right, but when someone that tells me that i'm wrong and they don't even work on cars for a living, well, that makes me not want to give input/help. not trying to brag, just trying to shed light why i got frustrated, but i've been working on cars professionally for the last 5 years, went to a tech school and graduated, went through mercedes training (which they paid for since i did well enough in tech school), am 4 months off being a mercedes master tech, and have been working on cars since 1999. before working on cars for a day job i worked in the machinery room of an aircraft carrier in the navy, so i'm a wrench monkey through and through.

just sayin that when people chime in and contradict each other in threads and then start into arguments of who knows more, it not only confuses people that are asking the questions, but also makes some of the people that actually know what they are talking about not want to add some useful information because they want to avoid getting sucked into drama. i've seen it on other forums before, so thats why i pretty much stay out of a lot of threads here, just don't want to get involved in a bs thread.

my 2 cents.
shout out some names...ill make some calls..

x2. Names, or it didn't happen. We'll see to it that this gets taken care of immediately sir master tech of Mercades.

Anyways, the way I see it, if someone is right, then they're right. To me, it doesn't matter if someone works on cars professionally for a living or not. If I'm wrong, and they are right, then that's all there is to it. I only get aggro when someone tells me I'm wrong when I know I'm right (or at least think I'm right, which is probably like 99.9% of the time laugh.gif ).

Sorry Kyle, I'll admit I haven't logged in much in the last month. But it's only because for once I'm just enjoying my car instead of working on it haha.

I still have some mods to do, but I'm tired of working in the cold garage, so I'm waiting till spring to do the headers, ect.
