Okay so i was getting ready to put my fenders back on and realized all the bolts were snapped that originally held them in place, only 2 aren't broken. . any suggestions as to how i can get this problem solved?


there are like 2 on the top of each sides that are busted off, and the bottom ones are also busted off inside the holes. let me know asap as i'd like to get my car finished soon. thanks

i had this problem and there is two ways of fixing it, the right way and the fast way, i picked the fast way and i'm going to go back and do it right one day.....

the right way..... go to home depot and buy a tap and dye kit, drill out said bolts and use the kit to re-thread the holes and then reinstall the fenders as usual.

the fast way.... go to home depot and buy some inch and a quarter self tapping metal screws, put the fender one in the correct place so that all the lines are correct and use said screws to replace broken bolts about an inch and a half from the original holes.

like i said the fast way works and the only way anyone can tell is when they open the hood and see the screws but the right way produces the factory look, good luck to you on this one.

you could try to find a left handed drill bit it will act like an easy out and the heat from drilling should help loosen the bolt. otherwise just use a regular drillbit and tap the holes. did you get my pm about the gt?

Extractor Have these at the shop, work wonders. Also a tap and dye kit is handy to have around in case you strip something out.
