95 OBDI and 96 + ODBII. thats for sure..
My diag computer has 4 or 5 different OBD2 cables, there is also a connector under the dash by the steering column.
diagnostic is under the hood, ecu obd2 connector is to the right of the steering column right above the gas pedal pretty much

Thats a yes and a no in 1996 they required that all cars have OBDII but not all 96 car where built in 96 many where built in 95 before the requirement. So when working on a 96 always check the date on the door jam sticker to know if it is OBDI or II

Also depends on the intended territory. IIRC, OBDII was standard fit on the USDB 96+ and JDM 98+. UK/Europe didn't get OBDII in 6th Gen. at all.

^ Along with that many cars -96 can be OBDII in the United States.

yeah thats true.. If they were made real early in the year right? but then , does that mean even tho its 96, its not 25th anni?
OBD II ports will ALWAYS be inside the car, and use the same type of connector. Part of the standard is that the port will be inside the car, within reach of the driver.

Where does the OBD2 port's wires goto exactly?

I had a look at the 6th gen BGB (I think it was?) but it was dated for pre-OBD2 I believe.

The OBDII(On Board Diagnostics version2) goes to the PCM(Powertrain Control Module) also known as the ECU or the cars computer.
