nice WRC!

i run 225/45/17 on mine , also 8x17", loads of traction but still easy to run 4wd drifts too.

I think Ill run the 215/45´s as then the speedo should have the right speeds..

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
The speedo difference is minimal mate,I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor in you choice.
Yeah I know its minimal, but I am anyways planning to go with 215´s..

i wouldn't go with kumhos simply because they are made in south korea or china.
falkens and toyos are made in japan and they are cheaper.

I am also trying to decide between T1R and FK452. If you google T1R vs. FK452 there are tons of comparisons. Most people who have used both like the FK452s better. They can last over 30,000 miles, very quiet, sidewall is medium stiffness so launching is ok but so is cornering. T1R is nicer looking though. Either one will look more stretched than mine because my Azenis's run wide for their size (7.6" tread width for FK452s vs. 8.0" tread width for Azenis's).

Yeah I heard of Kumhos being done in 10,000 miles with few track-days, and that kinda scared me..
Falkens treadwear is the best of these three I guess..

No use having plenty of tread left on your tyres if your cars upside down in a ditch, pick the ones that are going to keep you on the road the best, it maybe they wear out quicker but that's usually because there giving you better traction, 300 bhp & bad tyre choice is only gonna cause problems ive done it myself mate, when I bought my car it had brand new Federals on it,they were lethal so I binned them with 6mm tread, next I had Falkens they were ok but could let go a bit suddenly which wasn't ideal,I did keep them till they wore out tho, next I had Toyo T1s which I loved such an improvement, honestly made the car feel so much better & at the moment I've got Toyo T1r on, definately the best mid range price tyre I've had, wear rate probably isn't the best tho but that's a price I'm willing to pay for the grip.
If you've got time try & get as many opinions as you can before buying as tyre choice really affects the driving of a 4.

yeah your right, but all those three are much better tires than the federals biggrin.gif but thanks for the opinions!

Yea Federals are just dangerous mate, I could actually spin all 4 tyres up in 3rd when on boost. biggrin.gif
feck this shait.

I was partying with friends, and left the celica at my friends yard.
When I went to pick it up the next day, they had done a prank, there was 3 feet of snow on top of the car, from front to back. I laughed, got the snow off and came home..

But feck. Thanks to this prank, now theres a dent on my F/L fender and scratches on the roof, hood and the oter fender..
I did have a flawless GT4..

I don't trust leaving my car anywhere but in the garage or right next to my house.

Ill try to add some pics tomorrow..

booze + people who doesnt appreciate ones property/dont know cars = awesome results. ****.

Ill try to call them tomorrow, I hope they admit it so I dont have to speak to the Police about it..
I just hoped for some honesty, they could have called ahead."We did a small prank and accidentally scratched and dented your car. Get it fixed and we´ll pay for it" but no, nothing..

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
But how was it scratched, people standing on it? Snow doesn't scratch.

I guess there has been some small stones frozen to the snow, and those have scratched it.. Couple scratches were on the paint only, but 2 or 3 had scuffed all the paint off..

Got to a dealership and got a quote for the repair.

940€ aka 1,275$.

Nice.
Awesome.

Great to get the monyes from my mates.. FFFUUUUCCCCKKK

If they're mates they'll pay for it if their twats they won't.I'd go absolutely mental if that happened to my car mad.gif

Problem is that the guys are 20 and 18 and both are in school..
So its their dads that are probably going to have to pay..

gutted for you mate, the car looks top shape mate.

only one thing is that going from your top pic the radiator looks very worn, the top tank is browned by the looks which means its likely to have hairline cracks in it if its anything like the usual st205 rads when they brown they start to crack the tanks, then eventually die a death.

lovely motor though mate

Yeah, Ive already mentioned somewhere here that Im buying a new one before summer..

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
OK, the car is currently on the bodyshop getting fixed, and in the meanwhile I have had time to plan everything ready for the car..

So here we go:

- new rad
- new rad hoses
- fitting and heatcoating the aussie downpipe
- heat insulation to the Charge cooler
- set of Toyo Proxes 4

and if I install the downpipe, then Im going to need a remap, as the fuelcut will come an obstacle..

But seems good doesnt it!

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
which aussie downpipe did you get? the same ceramic coated pipe that i have or the non ceramic pipe?

if its the ceramic, dont lag the pipe.

what ecu are you running? as the standard unit isnt mappable, and fuel cut is a bitch, but can sometimes be got around by porting the wastgate.

my downpipe is s/s, and its going to get a ceramic heat coat on it.

Its the stock ecu now, fuelcut is somewhere in the region of 1,35bar so 19, 5?
but it requires to change some chips in the ecu. new program in.

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
so you are changing to a piggy back ecu?

if you are going to keep the standard ecu then taking the fuel cut off the ecu is a very very bad idea.

the standard st205 unit is only programed upto 1.2 - 1.4 bar fueling with a ct20 as the turbo, if you crank it up more boost then irrelevant of the boost coming in the ecu will only fuel the maps it is capable of, i.e. 1.2-1.4 bar max, and that will inevitably melt your engine, fcd on an st205 without a proper aftermarket ecu is a big mistake

I dont know whats the right term for it in engrish, but new fuel and boost maps. And no way am I going over 1.4bar if possible, Im pretty sure we´ll get good results with that level of boost, no need to rev the ct20b any more..

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
phew, thats ok then, i was thinking you were going to run the standard ecu fuel maps at over 1.2 bar, which would be catastrophic for the pistons. good good though, new fuel and boost maps are good, we are mapping my brothers car in 2 weeks, cant wait!

Yey,

- new rad
- new rad hoses
- vac hoses
- heat insulation to the Charge cooler
- set of Falken FK452

I might of missed something but are you planning on running a stock engine(not forged)at 1.4 bar

no I dont have forged internals, but no, im not driving at 1.4bar.

Currently 1.2 bar. Its about that Im going to install the aussie downpipe, which immediately at this program takes the boost 1.5bar and gets fuelcut.

edit; If you have info about what certain parts of the engine can handle, theyd be welcome.

I hate spring. As the streets melt, they get full of these bumps and holes.. hit on driving about 35-40mp/h and now my front right suspension squeeks like a horny pig, NICE.
