I just got my rear fog light I will use it to control my front fogs.

I know this is some where, i checked like 10 pages and try to search it but not luck , so if someone can help me with the 8 pin diagram and which color wire is for what will be great.

I'm actually going to endeavor to figure this out this weekend. I REALLY REALLY want my switch!

I have one on order right now. Not sure if it's eight pin or six pin, should be eight pin. I'll post up what I find out when I get it.

Just got the switch in the mail from jolly old England. It's 8 pin and has the harness with it. I have tomorrow off so I'll take it apart and see what I can find out.

This is a little silly for me since I don't have fogs on the car yet. Not sure if I want to hook up the rears like the factory either. I'm sure I'll find something to do with it.

So I've been messing around with the switch since I got it with limited results. Of course the first thing I did was swap the light for a blue led.

Right now I have it hooked up with +12V going to the green/red and the green wire. The white/green, white/black, green/black, and red/yellow are all grounded. When I push the button the red wire goes from +.6V to +12V.

Can't seem to get the red/black wire to do anything.

I suppose that you could run the red wire to a relay to get it to switch on the fogs as well as switch on the light on the dash.

I did notice that the switch would not work without +12V going to the illumination wire (green). It must use that for more than just the illumination.

Thanks for this, my car is JDM but being used in the uk it requires rear fog lamps and had an aftermarket switch fitted. I acquired a uk spec switch and harness this week and was just looking for this information.

this does make sense... illumination (green wire) only has power with lights on.... therefore... you could only activate rear fog lights when your lights are on...

So here is what I have been working with. The wires are going 1-8 right to left. To get it to work for simply switching a relay only six wires need to be used.

1. Output 12v to relay
2. +12v from illumination
3. +12v
4.
5.
6. Ground
7. Ground
8. Ground

I'll be keeping an eye on this, as I should have one coming in myself (not sure which one it is)

With the numbering you have there, is that exact to the pin numbers? Because I have the switch, but not the wiring thing that plugs into the back of it, so I'll have to put something together myself.

Yes those are the actual pin numbers. Same as the other posts about the switch.

On a side note I installed mine yesterday and had to trim the switch to make it fit. Not sure if it's because I have a '94 and the 8 pin switch was for later years or not.

Where did you tap into the illumination circuit? Also what kind of led did you use? I have pretty much given up on this, but your post with the new wiring setup got me inspired. Ill try out that new setup tonight.

EDIT: My god it works. Out of all the combos I tried, I don't know how I missed this one. I used your setup to make the switch turn my front fogs on/off. This is what I have set up:

1. 12v + to aftermarket relay for front fogs.
2. 12v + from low beams
3. 12v + from low beams
4.
5.
6. Ground
7. Ground
8. Ground

With this setup, the fogs can only get power when the low beams have power. I know a lot of people would rather be able to turn them on at any time, but I have had some bad luck with leaving my fogs on and draining my battery. I didn't tap into the illumination circuit because my led is dead and the switch didn't work if the illumination + and - weren't wired in some way. Once I get a new led I will hook it up to illumination, which brings me to another situation. I want my switch to light up only when the fogs are on, and the light is controlled by the dimmer switch. This way I have an indicator for when the fogs are on, and it is giving off the same light as the rest of the dash lighting. This is how I want to do it....

hey bojangles, i got some fogs coming in and im thinking about wiring something like this. i was just wondering why you need 2 relays to use uk fog button?

also, i think i would be ok with the the light on the button always illuminated. would that be the case if i wired it according to your diagram?

Aren't the Celica's rear fog light for the USDM Celica's just night time lights & brake lights? The two most inner lights on the tails right?

If you wired your button according to my diagram, the light would only come on when the fogs are on(which only come on when the low beams have power), and the brightness would be controlled by the dimmer switch, which controls the rest of the dash lighting, so it would be just as bright/dark as the rest of the dash. This way, the button actually serves as an indicator that the fogs are on or off, and it isn't any brighter/darker than the rest of the dash lighting. The second relay (the topmost one) is what connects the bulb in the button to the rest of the dimmer controlled illumination, and is triggered only when the fogs get power. If you don't care about being able to dim the button, take the second relay out of the equation and wire pin 2 on the switch to pin 86 on the fog light relay. The button wont constantly be lit, but it will light up when the fogs are on, which is better imho. Hope this helps.
