ST202 starring in a Fast & Furious type film - 6G Celicas Forums

so I downloaded this movie from a torrent site. it's called "Стритрейсеры" (Street Racers) but it's in russian though so i skipped over all the boring talk scenes and just watched the good parts. it's basically a remake of the 1st and 3rd F&F movies with a hint of Gone in 60 secs. i was surprised cuz i was expecting this to be one of those crappy quality foreign films but no, this movie is actually hollywood material.. well almost.

the lead actress in this film drives an st202 which she uses to race.. she's a bad ass who loves to toy with the cops but always gets away.. a quick summary of the story is she and her bf were forced to join a shady organization stealing exotics so they can pay back the debt from a race they had lost against with one of the biggest street kings in the city.

overall impression: nice cars + hot girls = good movie (even if you don't understand russian) biggrin.gif

Not sure if anyone else noticed, or if it's supposed to be that way. But in the picture of the speedometer topped out at around 240km/h, it doesn't even look like it's installed on a car, or even completely assembled. There's no mileage or trip displayed, the trim around the gauges are missing, the trip reset button is missing as well.. soo.. hmm but maybe it's supposed to be like that. I guess I will have to watch the movie and find out for myself smile.gif.

yes the celica is capable of doing 147 mph. ya its a bit weird. but cool to see tha they used celica's in this movie

How can you tell that the Heater/Fan controls were removed laugh.gif .

Also, hmm.. it's odd that they don't have the correct rear license plate bezel to fit that license plate into.

yeah.. there's a lot of movie magic shortcuts they did in the movie that i noticed.. for one yeah that speedo was definitely not installed. they probably wired it up to a control unit to get the speedo needle to go up and down. in other scenes, they were driving imprezas and beemers but during their getaway from the cops, they'd show the driver shift and they always used the 6gc shifter and speedo.. i was like wtf?

That is the ugliest Celica, inside and out, I've ever seen. Seriously, it looks like she took a bunch of cheap non-matching parts and put some pink flames on it. And what the heck is with the "rally" esq switches where the radio should be? Of course the horrible black smiley bumper that looks like it's supposed to be a car bra or something. HORRIBLE. Usually the Celica gets passed over when movies like this are made. How unfortunate this isn't the case on this one.

Not to mention, the plot is obviously retarded. She runs away from the cops all the time, but NO ONE would recognize her BRIGHT PINK car in the parking lot at a grocery store. Uh huh..

DUDE. I couldn't agree more! Only one word comes to mind when I see that thing. FUGLY. WHY lord, oh WHYYYYYYYY did they have to shame the car like that? It looks like they found a car at a wrecking yard, threw some weird crap on it to hide just how fcuked up it is, and called it good. Seriously. That thing is just WRONG.

At least there's a silver one in there that appears to not look like hell. laugh.gif

in a lot of forums, posting links to torrent sites can get you banned. i have the link and it took a few hours to download it (1.36GB file) and was getting around 80 Kbps

Nice. Personally, I'd never rock that Celica...but it's nice that they gave it some recognition. Funny though that they chose basically the worst platform of drivetrain for street racing. Oh well. That silver Celica looks cleaaan though, JDM and everything I assume. EDIT: I saw the decals on it...oh well, those can be taken off. I'd rock those JDM tails. biggrin.gif

It is a shame, however, what they did to that yellow MR-2. Terrible.

you know I just do not care how ugly that celi is or not. Personally I do not like Invader kit at all. But I would never say anyone who has it "your car is ugly" just because I respect his taste... so about design. I do not care. I'm glad someone choose 6gen. Celica for movie like this. That's all. Now to downloads. It took like 30 minutes and I got two versions downloaded. Cam rip from cinema (horrible quality) and DVDrip (pretty watchable rip smile.gif). So when I can find it just with Google anyone can as well... there are dozens of it!

I wouldn't choose a body kit for my car either, but I still think they look really nice when done well and have given TONS of members here props for their finished cars.

But come on, man. Look at this... what is there to compliment? She has an unmatching black smiley bumper with pink decals that look like they came from the bargain basement of Joann's Fabrics, a non matching red seat with stock seats everywhere else, a non matching red light kit, and the worst console mod I've ever seen, regardless of car make. Not to mention a spoiler that should never have gone on the car, purple accents that again, don't match, around the 'lips' of the smiley, and some of those tire air LED tabs that make it look like theres a ring of light around the wheels. Please, Celica or not, this is fugly. It screams "I went to Autozone and bought everything I shouldn't have.

I mean.. do you see the car she's racing in that shot? Unless she spent all her money on the engine and said "screw it" for outer appearance, I'd say she doesn't have a chance in hell!

they never did show what was under the hood... but she did have a couple of nitrous tanks in the hatch.. hence, the switches you see in the interior.

If you look really closely on the first fast and furious when its night time at race wars and brian is talking to mia and they are walking and the camera is panning with them, they walk by a stock looking usdm white 6gc. Kind of funny because none of the cars in the movie are stock, lol. took me watching the movie like 50 times to ever notice that, haha but i like the 6gc's in movies
