I received my set of JDM headlights earlier than expected today (Ordered Dec 20th with an expected back order of 6-8 weeks) so I'm quite excited In any case though the headlights (high and low) don't look like they're a direct bolt on to a usdm front end...or am I just seeing things? Picture for reference:



Also, the high beams I know are 9005 just like the usdm ones, but my H1 HID bulbs (the real reason I got the projectors) don't seem to be a direct fit? I have a couple wires here that I don't know where they go:



And the bulbs obviously don't fit into these holder things either, which are pretty much needed to make the bulb stay steady and in place:



Does anyone have any experience with HID setups like this that can help me out? I'd like to go my quarter panel repaired asap and obviously, having a usdm front end I'm not wired for an H1 setup. Thanks so much in advance!

all 4 are direct fit.

the USDM 9006 bulb harness doesn't fit the H1 bulbs.

Alright, so all four are a direct fit - I just wanted to be sure since they look slightly different.

I'm using an aftermarket plug and play ballast/hid setup though, I have the ballast for my 9006 stock headlights already - I also have the H1 bulbs for the projectors, but my question was what to do with the two extra wires in the second picture - I have no idea where they go, unless they're going into that H4 harness you linked me to.

Also, said H1 bulbs don't fit flushly into the projector - when I pull the wire pin holder over them, there's still some wobble - video here:
Basically the bulbs are loose in the sockets, the wire that goes over them doesn't hold them steady.

Alright so I'm not making any more new threads while I have three going on the first page.

I've figured out the H4 harness/H1 Bulb bit, To solve the wobble I'm just gonna wrap some electrical tape around the wire on each one. I just need to figure out how to remove the 194 accents so I can either replace them with the red ones I have lying around or wire in a red LED - either of which would be on a seperate switch.

The whole reason for doing this while these are out of my car is A) it's not cold inside and B) it'll be easier than when the headlights are in my car. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.

Also, yes, I know, I'm a noob and everyone's tired of fielding JDM part questions. I'm trying my best, I just don't wanna screw up an $800 pair of headlights.

just take a 9006 heavy duty harness and this will be the end that connects to the stock 9006, the other end you cut off and splice into an H1 or H4 harness that connects to the bulb. This is plug n play and oem looking. Wrap it with wire loom and your done. No mods, no rigging, no regrets. if you wanna go back you just unplug it, its an elementary 9006 to H1 adapter. I've mentioned this many many times, pretty simple process. I need to do a writeup and have the mods replace the whole HID wiring or H1 wiring for jdm projectors on the stickies. I'll try to do it today after work.

Thanks trd - I think I've got everything figured out, just need to splice my harnesses, get my LED's in for the accents and I'll be all set.

Turn your bulbs around, there's 2 little bumps on the plastic part that will fit into the two little holes on the projector housing where the bulb goes in. They WILL fit in there flush. Also, you probably have a little black rubber ring thing on your HID bulbs, that some of the wires feed through. The rubber thing will slide down, you can slide it down and it will fit in right above where your bulb goes into the projector, then you can put the clip down over that. That will help to seal the bulb in snugly and water tight as well.

If you don't get it figured out by the weekend, I'll try to take a picture of mine so you can see exactly what I'm referring to. I've got HIDs in my JDM projectors too.

I think I got it - this look about right? It was such a matter of common sense lol I felt stupid cuz I'm really not dumb haha

Your photos are kinda crappy but based on the dark fuzzy crappiness, they look about right.

Now pull the black and red wires through the rubber thing, and slide the rubber thing down over top of your bulb and THEN clip it down. Nice and tight and keeps moisture out too.

Sorry, cell phone quality lol. I have a plastic ring in there holding it down firmly now, you can't tell from the pics lol but I'm fairly sure I've got it all set now. Thanks for your help

I got them brand new + the high beams. No way I would've paid $800 for just the lows alone.
