DAng, did these idiots rally it, or what, why is the paint falling off from the fromt bumper, the front splitter may be fixed with FG, the sideskirt may be replaced if found.

the engine work will be the problem..

Dang, 2000? hmm maybe 1700, or the most 1800. The kid is nuts if he is going to sell it for what he wants.

GL, hope you make the right choice

Whoaaa... that is hard to even glance at. Sorry to hear about its downfall frown.gif
It wasn't even in THAT bad of shape when the guy you originally sold it to had it. (although he did hit a deer kindasad.gif).

Rare car, yes!...But $3k worth...hell no. Keep us updated if anything happens with this.

I'm thinking of emailing him and lowballing the sh1t out of him, so that way if Matt wants to counter, his offer will look better smile.gif
Do it lol

I'd even email and do the same.

Oh I should mention also that I have some very very excellent condition interior plastics that I would be willing to contribute, should you decide to buy the car back and restore it. I was saving them for myself should I want to use them in the future, but I'd totally be willing to donate them for this! smile.gif

Kelso isn't that far from Portland, is it? I'm thinking I'll go up and look at the car myself and then offer him $1500 for it. But only if Matt & Bonnie decide that they want to go for it if he accepts whatever they offer him.
Ill email.hahaha

BANNED. for life, you moron.
Kelso is only an hour north of Portland, but I am going to wait to hear back from the kid. I left the ball in his court, but I think that if I were to get another Celica I think I would want to build it up myself. With the motor in questionable shape, and the exterior in obvious poor condition, I would feel much better starting with something I know the history of. There are two years that are unaccounted for, and its all when it went downhill. With the owner's inability to be straightforward with me (please, sideskirts just don't mysteriously FALL OFF, and you don't just NOT notice that the driver's window has been replaced. Please, I'm not stupid) I am really reluctant to pull the trigger no matter what the price is.

I suppose I will wait to see what his next move is, but I'll most likely pass and wait for a stock or near stock Celica and build it up to "Yelli Celi Status". That way I will know everything about it.

Sounds like good reasoning, can't really argue with that. Good for you, I support whatever the outcome is.
wooow
what a loss!
why didn't coomer sold it to a member here?

He did. And then it was sold again to another member and from there to random people. The car's had a lot of owners.

Has no more Celicas
Yeah, Coomer sold it to me. I sold it to another member who started the process of trashing the car.

have you tried to carfax the car,

that skirt, new window, and the salvage sticker, sounds like that car was in an accident......

sad to day, the yelli celi, cooked its goose.

any pics of the engine?

QUOTEwhat hes saying is if you put blue lights in you car youll lose hp.
Car was salvaged when Coomer had it.
The engine bay was filthy. The stacks had carbon build up inside and out, some of the paint was chipping away here and there, and the block was covered in road grime, because someone took off the splash guard.

And the DOT sticker in the door jamb was not present when I purchased the car from Coomer in 2007.

Do you still know the VIN so we can carfax it?

I emailed the kid on Saturday and haven't heard back yet. Told him I might be interested but wanted more pics. I have a bike that I was going to sell in the spring but I think I'm going to offer it up in trade. The bike might be worth a little more than the car from what you have said.

lol are you serious hahaha
or you mean a motorcycle....
i really dont see the point to restore the car guys.
it will just bring memories back, and i think there is room for another
more interesting project that can represent 6gc community.
Coomer is not even here anymore.
No dude, it's a really sick BMX rolleyes.gif

I figure I was going to sell the motorcycle in the spring anyway. I have two other bikes and just don't ride the 600 anymore. Chances are this won't work out but it would be cool if it did. I have a shop and could slowly fix the car back up.
I have the VIN written down at home. I was going to call the DOT and see if they can run the door tag and see if it comes back with a matching VIN. Since the VIN tag in the engine bay is gone and the tag on the dash is also gone.

I died a bit when I saw the recent pictures. frown.gif
is that kid a member on here?
Ugh, my heart dropped when I read this. At least this yelli beuti has spread more good then it did heartache in it's day.

This car is still savable. Dare I say... should we put in a community pool to save this car?

Brand new 6gc owner! (sort of 2011)The world is moving around a sun, the sun moves around a local arm of the galaxy, the local arm of the galaxy moves around a gigantic black hole.
granted it is a 6gc icon but its an icon of an old time and a owner that actually gave a **** about the site, and it would cost more to fix it than it would to buy a new celi and build it, granted it does have a sick engine bay and a 4age its just not worth it imo

For those that haven't seen it on Facebook yet, it's for sale again. I'd pick it up myself if shipping wouldn't kill. frown.gif

It's just astounding how a car can be totally brought up to snuff, and in such a relatively short time it's beaten to the point of going to a junk yard...
