radio not working - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #72414 10 posts Started by kevinkoda
so i installed an aftermarket headunit..a cheap kenwood just for my subs..and whenever i put on the radio...its all static and my antenna does not raise at all...any help? thanks
make sure you connected your antenna to the back of the deck!
our radio antennas are powered so they wont extend unless they get power from your headunit, which could be why your getting bad reception?
connect the head units antenna wire to the cars auxiliary wire

Sorry to hijack your thread but I have radio problem too and don't want to start a new thread:
Time to time my radio completely resets on the start of the car (i.e. loose all the settings, presets etc.) I have professionally soldered and insulated all the harness connection (no crimping) and double-checked everything. No loose ground. Anybody has experienced similar glitch?

i also had this problem on one install. your 2 power wires 12v and ignition may be reversed.
you will lose all settings if the constant power supply is wired to ignition because uhh ignition isnt constant haha

I will definitely check on that but I don't think so. That would cause the stereo to reset EVERY time but my problem is "hit and miss".

this should be the reason. if you have a non name brand head unit these 2 wires are confused 100% of the time. GL
